ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
The Furnace Project Engineer will support the delivery of the pre-engineering, planning and field execution phases of the Furnace Overhaul Programme within our KG Asset.
Key accountabilities
- Develop Scope of Work documents incorporating inspection requirements, corrective & preventive repairs including mechanical and instrument electrical as well as any operational / performance improvement and lifecycle scope.
- Assist Furnace Lead & Mechanical Engineer in the creation and consolidation of competitive tender technical documentation and evaluation of submissions.
- Co-ordinate with all required service providers to build manpower, material, equipment, costs and timescales for each element of the outage scope.
- In collaboration with the P6 Planner develop a robust outage plan and schedule maximising efficiency of execution whilst supporting best in class safety standards.
- Liaising closely with the Construction Supervisor, ensure daily SHE performance is in line with vendors specific SHE plans and INEOS 20 Principles and Life Savings Rules.
- Focal point for work order management including scheduled and out of process approvals, supporting Furnace Lead with weekly cost reporting and accurate forecasting.
- Chair Written Scheme Review Meeting; Outage Scope & Schedule Review Meeting and Post Overhaul Lessons Learned meeting to Terms of References.
- Lead all Furnace Overhaul Assurance processes including compliance with the requirements defined in the written scheme of examination; quality assurance of all maintenance and repairs; as well as SHE performance and application of lessons learned.
- Responsible for the identification and registration of all risks to programme delivery.
- Lead the definition and implementation of mitigation action(s) with collaboration from wider furnace team as necessary.

- Able to understand cost and billing information to ensure fair and accurate billing and contract claim management.
ABOUT YOU
You should:
- Have a degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical) or a HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Have project engineering experience in a similar or equivalent industry.
- Demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills.
- Be able to motivate and support a multi-disciplined team of service providers.
- Have working knowledge in respect of key regulations relating to design, maintenance and inspection for onshore, UK facilities.
- Have good decision making skills within area of own expertise.
- Be able to interpret plans and progress measures.
