Job Objective

The Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising accounting (and related analysis) functions, which includes financial accounting, consolidations and financial reporting, sales and inventory accounting and fixed assets accounting.  It also is responsible for coordinating and providing internal reporting and analysis with the FPA group as well as all external monthly financial reporting.  The job is also responsible for coordinating the work performed by the external auditors.

Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for supervising and coordinating the entire monthly accounting close process across all departments involved in recording entries.
  • Supervises inventory cost accounting, sales accounting, volumetrics, fixed asset/capital projects accounting, financial accounting and general ledger consolidations. 
  • Responsible for monthly preparation and analysis of all accounts in the financial statements. 
  • Reviews and evaluates impact of new and proposed accounting pronouncements (IFRS) and coordinates implementation of new regulations.
  • Researches accounting issues and coordinates solutions with parent company and external auditors
  • Provides accounting support for various special projects.
  • Provide financial accounting information to support questions and analysis of other users such as VP Finance and other business leaders.
  • Coordinates the development of the accounting organization’s goals and objectives and performance measurement.
  • Manages the department budget input and change process.
  • Key role in providing monthly financial information and analysis to the Finance group to understand the monthly operations and communicate the results to management, officers and the owners.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting including HFM as well as the annual financial reporting requirements and any required governmental reporting. 
  • Coordinates and is key contact for the annual audits of the external auditors.
  • Provides support to the financial group in preparing and updating monthly and yearly forecasts of financial results and cash flows.
  • Provides support in the annual and five-year plan budgeting process.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of broad experience in accounting and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS rules and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
  • Ability to manage staff and influence others in the group as well as across company departments. 
  • Knowledge of the chemicals industry and/or plant processes
  • Solid Mathematical and Financial acumen
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • SAP, HFM
