The Forties Pipeline System (‘FPS’) is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system. We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated Financial Modelling Analyst, based in Grangemouth, at our new office complex. Accurate and clear modelling and analysis is required to equip the business to make informed decisions and support the delivery of our strategy to be reliable and sustainable to 2040+.
 

job purpose

Reporting to the Financial Modelling Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of a range of financial models operated by the FPS business. The Financial Modelling Analyst will be relied upon to present detailed analysis and to provide clear and concise recommendations to senior management on a range of areas. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for several month-end model related tasks. There will be a need to work closely with other areas of the business, including supporting and advising the commercial team on the structure and terms of new business, as well as working with both Commercial and Operations to obtain up-to-date information and assumptions.

principle accountabilities

  • Detailed modelling and analysis to provide insights to senior management
  • Operation of and/or input into a variety of financial models including:
    • Long-Term Planning Model
    • Cost Share Model (generates invoices in excess of >£150m per annum)
    • Budget Models
    • Decommissioning Model
    • Going Concern and Impairment Models
  • Development of new ad-hoc models as required by the business
  • Assistance with meeting the requirements of our lenders including covenant submissions and consent requests
  • Monitoring our carbon allowances requirement, transacting the purchase of allowances and inputting into our carbon strategy
  • Completion of a number of month-end tasks, including updating the Cost Share Model and calculating interest and commitment fee accruals and quarterly mark-to-market journals
  • Supporting and advising the Commercial team on a range of topics, including the pricing and structure of new business and the implications for FPS from a financial perspective
  • Provision of support to the Financial Modelling Manager and Business Controller with other ad hoc financial responsibilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualified
  • Professional qualification in Accounting and/or Finance or working towards qualification
  • Advanced financial modelling skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices, such as DCF, NPV, IRR and financial statements
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Commitment to clear and structured financial modelling techniques
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to draw conclusions from data and articulate these clearly, confidently and professionally
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Business awareness and commercial understanding
  • Ability to work to tight and competing deadlines
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating at a variety of levels within the organisation
