For our office/site in Antwerp we are looking for a

Financial Controller  (F/M)

Organizational context and job purpose

We have an opportunity for a Financial Controller located in Antwerp. In this role, you'll manage month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring the preparation of financial statements according to IFRS and Belgian GAAP for our Belgian entities. The Financial Controller ensures compliance with all internal guidelines and statutory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Financial Controlling Team West in Frankfurt, you'll be an integral part of our global financial operations.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Preparing and analysing monthly and annual financial statements according to IFRS and Belgian GAAP and lead respective audits.
  • Analysing data to identify business impacts, tracking financial performance against KPIs and deriving actionable measures. 
  • Assisting in financial planning and KPI-driven performance management.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior financial professionals on numerous tasks & projects.
  • Preparing annual corporate income tax declarations in cooperation with external consultants.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and INEOS group reporting guidelines.
  • Participating in projects to optimize financial operations and improve efficiency.
  • Provide advice for expert topics (such as tax and legal matters.

Skills & knowledge required

  • Master’s degree in Finance / Economics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in an industrial and international environment and / or audit firm.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting requirements including IFRS and Belgian GAAP.
  • Sound knowledge of management accounting and reporting techniques.
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to setting priorities.
  • Experience working with SAP FI & CO is a plus.
  • Business fluency in English and Dutch is mandatory; French and German is a plus.
