ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Logistics Financial Coordinator is responsible for delivering the financial transactions for the O&P UK supply chain function and identifying and developing areas for process improvement to ensure the supply chain 3rd party spend is accurate and fully understood.

Dimensions:

  • Ensure payment enablers are functional and correct for all O&P business costs circa €60M.
  • Verify and process annual fixed costs of the order €5M.
  • Validate the value and justification for additional charges and freight costs.
  • Approximately 50 vendors and 1500 deliveries transacted per month.

Key accountabilities:

  • Raise annual Purchase Orders for O&P business circa €60m to allow segregated payment to vendors and ensure that correct profit centres are selected so that product costs are segregated and reported in the correct manner.
  • Accurately maintain and add new routes, freight rates and carrier details into SAP as requested by the procurement team in order to ensure that deliveries can be transacted.
  • Coordinate and prepare weekly and monthly self-bills for freight vendors including verifying freight costs and additional charges and checking for erroneous information to ensure accurate freight billing across the anticipated €20M polymer freight spend.
  • Analyse costs provided by 3rd parties and where necessary challenge against supplier contracts, in order to support business EBITDA targets.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies to ensure that the invoices are accurate and the correct payments are processed in accordance with the relevant payment terms.
  • Manipulate payload data in order to identify potential areas to maximize payload and hence reduce freight costs.
  • Validate terminal costs and perform Service Entry activities by month end to ensure accurate monthly costings and to enable prompt payment to suppliers.
  • Prepare accruals for expected costs not received prior to month-end closure to ensure that any future costs are anticipated.
  • Support both the preparation of the annual budget and supply chain projects by providing accurate financial data so that both these activities can be developed with confidence in the knowledge that the data required is correct.
  • Identify and develop improvements to the financial transaction processes in order to increase efficiency and reduce workload.
  • Perform a number of safety related checks at designated intervals to support delivery of O&P UK HSE objectives.
  • Prepare monthly report showing the additional cost to the business of doing non-optimal moves versus optimal.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Have a HNC in a related discipline or suitable previous work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to use the SAP ERP system.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent behavioural and relationship skills.
  • Confident communicator and must be able to interact across various levels both internally and externally.
  • Able to express financial and SAP issues to personnel who are otherwise unfamiliar with these issues.
  • Ability to work productively when under pressure and under tight time restraints, meet deadlines and multi-task.

You may also:

  • Have previous supply chain experience.
  • Have experience of accountancy practices.
