Financial Analyst

Purpose of the role 

The goal of this role is to provide a meaningful analysis for our manufacturing units (PTA & OSBL) & Logistics at INEOS Petrochemicals Manufacturing plant in Cooper River. The jobholder will deliver fit-for-purpose analysis and deep dives to provide meaningful performance reports and insides to the manufacturing site leadership.  The Financial Analyst is in charge to deliver reliable and accurate financial forecasts & annual budgets but is also performing excellent variance analyses versus budget and ad-hoc requests throughout the year, enabling the Site Controller and Senior Management to take efficient decisions.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Responsible for Manufacturing Month End entries such as standard costing updates, consumptions of raw materials, and inventory transfers. Calculation, analysis, and verification of production metrics including Yields and mass balancing
  • Execute plant related accounting entries for capital projects, work orders, and purchase orders.
  • Inventory accounts reconciliations
  • Journal entries as needed such as accrual, clearing account balances, etc.
  • Accounts Payable for utilities tracking consumption, invoicing and payments.
  • Intra-divisional billing and receipts process
  • Full cost analysis of PTA/OSBL product lines, including manufacturing variable and fixed production cost
  • Logistics cost review with commercial department on monthly basis. Reconciliation of the freight account
  • Support to annual budget process for Finish Products and manufacturing production lines (PTA/OSBL)
  • Coordinate and validate inputs for Variable Cost Forecasting and Budgeting.
  • Prepare monthly site performance charts and reports with variance analysis including meaningful commentary for management
  • Perform Segregation of Duties control activities
  • Complete manufacturing governmental surveys as required
  • Coordinate, follow-up, analyze and provide management information of the maintenance & TAR and fixed cost spend
  • Internal control/support external audit
  • Aid with Ad hoc analyses and requests

Essential Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business

Essential experience and job requirements:

  • Excellent PC skills, MS Office with strong Excel skills, SAP experience preferred (MM, CO, FI, SD), Business Warehouse applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, high level of numeric and financial awareness for business modeling and analysis.
  • Prioritizes task effectively and works to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated and good team player, able to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Asks focused questions to gather information and uses resources to get things done through formal and informal networks.
  • Ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams.
