ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT & JOB PURPOSE
At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant/Analyst to join the IET Finance team to assist with the growing financial accounting, reporting and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assisting with monthly close activities alongside existing / future finance and accounting team (e.g. intercompany records, posting journals, balance sheet reconciliation).
- Produce monthly management reports for consolidation into INEOS Energy and INEOS Group reports. Carry out financial analysis with the trading team to understand and report financial performance to management;
- Support relationship with external auditors;
- Prepare other regulatory or INEOS Group financial submissions;
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, review inputs with trading and commercial teams, prepare and submit templates to INEOS Energy and INEOS Group;
- Support the business controller with day to day cash management and general treasury activities;
- Provide financial analysis and support to the commercial and trading functions around forecasting liquidity requirements, sensitivities; develop models and tools to automate analyses;
- Ad hoc support to IET projects particularly around implementation of new business streams and the associated accounting impact.
- Assessing accounting impact of new business streams to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education & experience
- Business Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
- Experience within trading/commodity industry would be preferable.
- Ability to develop and use modelling tools to present outcomes simply and concisely.
Preferred Software Experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
