We’re looking for a Finance Intern to join the INEOS Acetyls team based at our London office. We need a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of our growing business.

The opportunity

As the Finance Intern, you will be responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable ledgers for the European Acetyls and EtAc business, ensuring timely payments from customers and assist with Compliance due diligence.

Key accountabilities

Customer Credit Account Management:

  • Liaise with respective Treasury teams at site to ensure that all cash is posted and allocated to the correct customer account daily.
  • Coordinate loading of bank statements through electronic interface daily.
  • Ensure that all relevant GL and clearing accounts are cleared daily and reflect appropriate cash allocation.
  • Lead the cash collection effort to meet business KPI’ and ensure that cash is collected in a timely manner so that overdue balances are kept within business targets.
  • Pro-actively work with customers and Commercial teams to resolve queries/disputes resulting in cash collection, escalating issues arising in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that credit control policies and procedures are applied in line with business policy.
  • Ensure that emails into the group email addresses are dealt with appropriately.
  • Support the Credit and Commercial functions with customer information, highlighting trends and other matters as directed.
  • Produce and report all KPI’s and any ad-hoc report requirements to Credit and Finance teams within agreed timelines.
  • Support the European Finance team with reporting and forecasting.

Treasury postings:

  • AP queries and returns management through Treasury and AP – SAP processing, GL allocation, vendor management, reversing previous payments and re-instating new payments.
  • AP allocation – bank download – post payments to correct GL, CC, etc. Manual payment, VAT, vendor ledger management.

Compliance: 

  • Provide support to the Compliance Lead on ad-hoc duties including – but not limited to;  
      • Initiating searches to support the Customer Due Diligence activity.
      • Assisting with the data maintenance for the Compliance training suite.

About you

We are looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with effective relationship building skills.

Strong analytical skills are also essential along with the ability to extract the key issues from ambiguous data sets.

You will have advanced written and verbal communication skills and the ability to distil complex issues down to their core components.

As a self-starter you will have a demonstrably strong work ethic and excellent organisational skills.

Knowledge of MS Excel is essential.
