Organizational Context:
Feluy is the largest site of the Oligomers Business producing up to 450 Kta of high value chemicals generating an annual EBITDA in a 30 to 100 m€pa range.
The Feluy site comprises a “world scale” LAO and 2 PAO production units which are INEOS Oligomers plants and an Afton Chemicals plant which takes most infrastructure services from INEOS Oligomers.
This position provides overall leadership for the safe, reliable, environmentally sound and profitable manufacturing of products at the Feluy site.
Managing the relationships with Afton, the local Feluy community and the unionized workforce are key factors for this position.
As a ISO9000, ISO14000 and ISCC+ certified site INEOS Feluy has developed a leadership position as far as sustainability while being the benchmark site of the business on all controllable manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Major responsibilities for the Site Director include but are not limited to the following:
- Set up operating, maintenance, and Capex strategies to drive asset integrity.
- Set up and follow a comprehensive SHE management process including audits, corrective action tracking and incident investigation.
- Responsible for reviewing documents that are submitted to the State and act as the company designee.
- Develop key metrics to monitor Feluy operating performance.
- Successful project delivery for ongoing Capex.
- Develop resource and implement cost reduction strategies as well as value generation activities (volumes, quality, etc.)
- Maintain first quartile performance through use of internal and external manufacturing benchmarks.
- Establish goals that provide direction on both tactical and strategic activities for direct reports that support the business’s objectives (particularly volume, revenue, return, and fixed costs) and monitor progress towards their realization.
- Champion a culture where each individual is empowered to achieve and exceed, by delivering solutions that create value in the most innovative, efficient, and cost-conscious way possible; recognize and reward achievement.
- Encourage a strong team spirit, via candid and open communication, where each individual’s involvement and contribution is valued.
- Mentor and develop direct reports’ capabilities by providing guidance on tactical and strategic initiatives. Promote career development and define career expectations with key personnel at all levels/functions, in-line with succession planning.
- Develop and implement mid- and long-term production strategies in line with INEOS Oligomers business strategy.
- Identify and implement manufacturing cost reductions.
- Identify and implement production volume opportunities.
- Maximize the benefits to INEOS Oligomers from the third-party operating contract by managing the day-to-day operating relationship and agree upon resources and associated costs.
- Maintain relationships in the community, particularly among elected officials, public safety agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Handle and resolve Union related issues within the INEOS Oligomers operating teams.
- Resolve day to day issues
- Lead collective labor agreement negotiation discussions.
- Sit on the PEAF pipeline management committee and represent INEOS Oligomers at pear level versus other pipeline stakeholders (NMP, Total, and Borealis).
Skills required
Level of education & Experience in general
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- 15 plus years of experience in chemical, refining or industrial manufacturing.
- Broad managerial experience in operations/ maintenance/ finance/ SHE / procurement and logistics is desirable.
Technical skills
- Experience and knowledge of chemical / maintenance operations and regulation.
- Knowledge of safety and quality management systems
- Budgeting and cost control
