ESG and Consents Advisor

At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

Reporting directly into the Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality the ESG and Consents Advisor will take a prime role within the SHEQ team and support our production operations and projects in the Southern North Sea. The successful candidate will be based in London and required to travel offshore and/or to our Norwich office occasionally.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assist in monitoring the UK business ESG activities
  • Develop ESG reporting frameworks, sustainability strategies and action plans
  • Ensure that all SHEQ work undertaken for the company complies with QHSE legislation, company Policies and objectives
  • Assist the Head of SHEQ in advising all company employees on all aspects of SHEQ
  • Assist in maintaining, enhancing and implementing the company SHEQ and Business Management Systems
  • Assist in ensuring the company complies with parent company management systems requirements: The Twenty Principals, Life Saving Rules and Ineos Group Guidance Notes (IGGNs)
  • Assist in ensuring that Management Systems are fully documented and kept up-to-date, and provide advice to others on implementing systems and procedures
  • Assist in conducting internal / external audits, technical / SHEQ reviews, management reviews.
  • Maintain the Business Management System (BMS) accredited to ISO 14001 and 45001 and future updates/amendments as required

 

Skills, Experience and Education

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant Engineering or Science discipline is desirable
  • Experience in the preparation and submission of permits and consents in relation to UK offshore operations and drilling activities
  • ESG related qualification is desirable
  • Environmental reporting - in particular, UK ESG related legislation and European CSRD requirements
  • UK Offshore Environmental Legislation in relation to drilling, production operations and decommissioning
  • Developing and maintaining health, safety and environmental management systems and legislation
  • Safety and environmental management principles and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
