Equipment Asset Coordinator

Main Purpose

The main focus of the Equipment Asset Coordinator is to develop equipment ownership by the production team to achieve greater operational success.  This includes effectively executing the core work process, and becoming full partners with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations and Management to assure production equipment properly operates and is readily available to achieve the safe, compliant, and reliable operation that maximizes profitability. This role is also the key custodian of the workflow process and is responsible for evaluating risk and prioritizing work on deficient equipment for the asset as well as defining scope for routine work.  The Equipment Asset Coordinator is part of the Production Asset Team (PAT) and will work with other members of the team to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, lead and provide insight to RCFAs and Cause Maps, manage the MOC process, provide technical support for operations and daily maintenance, and provide scope to address challenges affecting the asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the work process system being effectively used to maintain the asset by ensuring proper scoping of work orders, reviewing past RCFAs when scoping repeat work, and ensuring asset work orders are prioritized accordingly and new work orders are assigned the proper criticality rating.
  • Provide oversight of the PSM and MI programs to verify compliance. Manage MI work orders and ensure the work is planned, scheduled, and completed prior to its due date.  Work with PAT and management to obtain deferrals for MI Program tasks that cannot be completed by the due date.
  • Responsible as scope owner for all routine maintenance work in the asset. Work with operators and Asset Engineers to identify needs for repair with consideration given to long term reliability. 
  • Support maintenance execution by reviewing work schedule to ensure PMs are completed on time. Review maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement within the asset and site overall.
  • Work with Asset Engineers to develop long term equipment reliability strategies and definition of operating envelopes for equipment. Provide feedback for reporting or investigating deviations that impact reliability or operating envelop compliance.
  • Responsible for LDAR program health for the asset by ensuring repairs are being managed per the program requirements. Work with environmental team to log Delay of Repair approvals.
  • Provide ownership for all rental equipment used in support of the process or maintenance activities. Periodically review and determine if business need still exists and challenge rentals back to PAT. Follow-up on rental equipment return documentation to eliminate unnecessary charge.
  • Provide periodic review of equipment round sheets and give feedback to Production Leaders on completion. Communicate to Process Asset Engineer on operating limit issues found during reviews of rounds sheets and PI Process Book.
  • Support the MOC process for the asset by acting as MOC manager when required by a project or other strategic initiative.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all provincial and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.
  • Must embrace and promote the observance of INEOS 20 Safety Principles (Behavioral and Process Safety) and INEOS Life Saving Rules with employees and contractors.
  • Provide appropriate risk ranking for unit health and relation to production to help PAT appropriately prioritize daily activities to achieve production plan.
  • Must develop, recommend and implement strategies for improving and optimizing process equipment reliability.
  • Take on Maintenance Execution Lead role during event management.
  • Rental Equipment owner for the asset, accountable and responsible for rental equipment associated with supporting the asset.
  • Responsible for providing feedback for unit rounds and recommendations for equipment operating limits.
  • Must be able to understand acceptable versus unacceptable failures and how to manage each type.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Technical Degree or certificate preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a Petro-chemical manufacturing environment with specific experience in PSM regulated facilities.
  • 3+ Years experience in the specified asset preferred.

Skills/Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of the PHA process, pressure relief systems, and safety instrumented systems of the asset.
  • Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Self-motivated and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
  • Advanced computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and database software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Must understand Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP).

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work around and on industrial equipment. including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders, as well as perform office tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.  The employee must walk, stand and travel by car or other means and be able to work in a variety of environments that include both fieldwork and deskwork.  Minimum requirements include:

  • Maintaining constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of all other personnel. This includes knowledge of INEOS 20 Safety Principles and other safety procedures and rules.
  • Being able to work in a safety sensitive environment that includes large rotating equipment and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to withstand both winter and summer temperatures while wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment.

In addition, must be comfortable working in a loud environment that could include exposure to fumes / odors or vibration from surrounding equipment including the following:

  • Being able to ascend and descend a barrel ladder with continuous vertical length of up to 35 feet.
  • Being able to climb and descend stairs up to a total structure height of 80 feet.
  • Being physically able to wear and navigate through the unit with a respirator if needed.
  • Being able to pick up a 50 lb object such as a fire extinguisher or a large book/binder.
  • Being able to work at a desk and operate routine items such as a computer and calculator
