INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. 

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA operates from 14 manufacturing sites in the USA, manufacturing and marketing four main product lines: Olefins, High Density Polyethylene resin, Manufactured Polyethylene Pipe, and Polypropylene resin.

With an annual manufacturing capacity of 15.3 billion pounds of petrochemicals and polyethylene pipe, INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA is a major participant in the North American chemical industry. A workforce of over 1800 makes up our employee team. They staff our Marina View headquarters in League City, Texas; our fractionation facility located between the communities of Seminole, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico; our major manufacturing plants at La Porte and Alvin, Texas; our West Coast manufacturing facility in Carson, California; our storage facility in Freeport, TX; WL Plastics' headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas and nine pipe extrusion plants located across the US.

The 300-acre INEOS Battleground Manufacturing Complex (BMC) was originally built in 1956 and is located on the Houston ship channel east of Houston, Texas.  Currently, BMC produces both high-density polyethylene and polypropylene.  The polypropylene line has a capacity of approximately 320 million pounds per year, and the seven polyethylene lines have a combined capacity of approximately 3 billion pounds per year.  The BMC site has a state-of-the-art technical center which integrates research and development, technical services and quality assurance. 

The Main Purpose of the Role: 

The EPO, Products and Additives Specifications Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and improving the product control systems in place for HDPE and PP.

  • Maintain product specifications and implement changes.
  • Maintain Customer Certificates of conformity (COA). 
  • Coordinate with Technical Service and Development, customer service and laboratory for managing specifications, testing, COA to ensure consistency with product and customer requirements.
  • Oversee and maintain quality systems and external agency testing.
  • Provide expertise to resolve quality and Sharepoint system issues with manager and colleagues.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

SAP -

  • Maintain specs in SAP 
  • Address Certificate of Analysis (COA) exceptions for BMC, Carson, CBW and as a backup for Olefins.
  • Work with IT to resolve ongoing interface errors that cause COAs to fail
  • Maintain COA profiles for BMC, CBW PP, Carson
  • Set up and maintain Test Report profiles for Generic Prime Grades
  • Work with IT to develop system for accessing and viewing specifications in SAP, especially Customer Specific Specifications.
  • Train back-up INEOS individual for SAP functions and coverage during absences.
  • Update TSD User manual for SAP functions and responsibility.
  • SAP Super User – Preferred – In depth understanding of the Order To Cash, Manufacturing, and / or other processes relating to SAP functionality.
  • SAP Material Master File:
    • Finished Goods: Manage the SAP Material Master file for finished goods, including masterbatch information.  This includes material creation and marking for deletion along with maintaining any changes to BOM’s (Bill of Materials) for the finished good and masterbatch.

Accountability 3:

INEOS External Database

  • Maintain existing technical data and information on external website site.
  • Olefins Coordination: Collaborate with Olefins team on COA setups and changes

Accountability 4:

Regulatory Agencies

  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary liaison for annual regulatory agency expenditures for NSF, UL, and CSA.
  • Inspections and Audits: Participate in inspections and audits as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Budget Management: Maintain related budgets, approve invoices for payment, handle accruals, and manage budgeted TS&D regulatory funds.
  • Backup for Automotive Approvals: Possess general knowledge to act as a backup for automotive-related approvals

Accountability 5:

Sample Manager 11 and eSPEC

  • User-Friendly Documentation: Create and maintain a user-friendly document outlining the correct use of Sample Manager 11 and eSPEC within the Technical Service and Development (TS&D) team.
  • Annual / Semi – Annual Review of SharePoint Libraries: Collaborate with members of TS&D to review the status of EPO’s and/or Spec changes and identify next steps.

Accountability 6:

Quality

  • TS&D Quality Documentation: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of TS&D quality documentation and procedures.
  • Gensuite Effectiveness Review: Participate in TS&D Gensuite effectiveness reviews.
  • Internal and External Audits: Collaborate in internal quality audits and external audits related to Quality System Regulations (QSR).

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

Minimum Qualifications

·Two years technical or associate degree, preferably in Data management, Quality system or science and 5+ years experience

·Four years degree preferably in Data management, Quality system or science and 3+ year experience

·Experience in the chemical industry, laboratory or product daily coordination considered; knowledge of polyolefin properties considered

Skills and Competencies

Technical skills

  • Proficient to expert in SAP and database management, and preferably for website management.
  • Deep understanding of product specifications, lot release, customer requirements, in-line and lot testing.
  • Expertise and technical insight in the areas of polymer properties and testing, and customer requirements. Gain or has a strong knowledge of SM-11, Espec and ISO quality requirements
  • Achieve deep knowledge of quality systems and interconnections between in house testing and customer needs.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to manage and integrate data from many sources and to manage and follow procedures
  • Business:   Understand the business needs of tech service and developments and of related groups (logistics, customer service, laboratory…).
  • Business Process Expert:  Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of business processes across all areas of the organization to help solve problems in Product Development and Technical Services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently (70-100%) sitting.
  • Infrequently (10% or less) lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Infrequently (10% or less) ascending and descending stairs, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and reaching at/below shoulder height.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer screen and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
