Job Title: Environmental Compliance Engineer                                                      Department: SHE-R 

Summary of Position

This role is responsible for executing air quality and environmental compliance programs to ensure full alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. The position serves as a key resource to the business, providing practical guidance on regulatory requirements, emerging risks, and opportunities to improve emissions performance.

The individual will manage air permitting and compliance submittals, support regulatory reporting, and coordinate inspections and audits, while working closely with operations, engineering, and business development to proactively plan and deliver environmental initiatives. This role also interfaces directly with regulatory agencies and supports industry engagement as needed.

In addition, the position supports programs including GHG/ESG reporting, SPCC compliance, OOOOa/b initiatives, and environmental audits, while providing on-call support for emergency response and reporting requirements. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance, all while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Complete various air permit and compliance submittals
  • Track and interpret air quality regulations and advise management on future potential and likely concerns and issues
  • Interact directly with federal, state, and local officials
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operations, engineering, and business development management and staff
  • Proactively plan, organize and oversee assigned work programs
  • Monitor schedules, budgets and evaluate the work of third party environmental contractors
  • Review and analyze results of emissions testing and environmental compliance inspections, including experience with next-generation emissions monitoring technologies beyond traditional LDAR programs
  • Represent the company on industry committees pertaining to air quality and actively participate in industry groups to stay ahead of and help shape evolving regulatory requirements
  • Provide 24/7 support to Company's emergency response and reporting requirements
  • Support regulatory reporting to agencies including the RRC, GLO, TCEQ, and EPA
  • Manage the SPCC plans, reporting, and required inspections
  • Lead the GHG/ESG reporting program and leverage advanced EHS data management platforms to automate and streamline compliance workflows beyond standard Microsoft Office tools

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or another closely related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience preparing and submitting emissions inventories, air permit applications and other environmental compliance requirements/documentation
  • Working knowledge of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) regulations at upstream oil and gas facilities
  • Demonstrated experience performing regulatory analyses, including interpretation of agency rules, regulations, and guidance
  • Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act, state/local/tribal air quality regulations, Title V compliance requirements, source emission calculations using EPA or industry standard procedures, air pollution control technologies, and dispersion modeling
  • Excellent written communication and oral communication skills, including experience providing training and interacting directly with federal, state, or local officials
  • Proficient in using standard spreadsheet, word processing, and database software, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Team player who is open to coaching others and being coached and follows through on commitments
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules

Travel & Additional Requirements:

  • Work Location: Work is performed at both field and office locations.
  • Schedule: 9/80
  • Travel required to INEOS field locations.

Compensation & Benefits

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $120,000 - $180,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 40% of eligible pay. This role, depending on skill level and experience, may also participate in the Long-Term Incentive Plan with annual awards, vesting over three years, ranging from 8-15% of stated annual target. These ranges are estimates, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
