The Position: Engineering & Reliability Manager  - This position is responsible for managing the daily functions and the long term strategy of Engineering and Reliability for the Sarnia site. This is done by ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently, reliably, and in an environmentally friendly manner, adhering to all compliance mandates/standards set by regulatory agencies and Company policy. The Engineering & Reliability Manager is responsible for building and executing a department budget, maintaining acceptable performance standards of direct and indirect reports, and partnering with other functional groups to accomplish site goals. This role also provides leadership to facilitate the implementation of Sarnia Site reliability strategies to reduce equipment failures and increase Operational Excellence.

What you will do:  
•    Demonstrate accountability for the integrity of critical plant assets and protective systems to support the safety of plant personnel and the surrounding community.
•    Prioritize Styrene Monomer production losses and associated operating costs to focus efforts on the most critical opportunities.
•    Maintain mechanical integrity of pressure vessels and piping systems and ensure compliance with industry/regulatory/insurance standards through the effective use of inspection programs.
•    Complete root-cause failure analysis and implement engineering solutions to repetitive failures that adversely affect plant operations.
•    Progress the execution of the Corrosion Under Insulation Program (CUI) for Sarnia Site.
•    Continue developing and maintaining the ten (10) year Asset Plan for Sarnia site.
•    Provide final engineering approval on all site MOCs.
•    Interface with the TSSA; Ensure all registered equipment has a valid Certificate of Insurance and progress the site QC manual to obtain a TSSA Certificate of Authorization.
•    Ensure all Engineering/Inspection/Reliability Turnaround scopes are developed and submitted before the Turnaround scope freeze dates.
•    Work with the Reliability team to review, update, and refine the existing preventive and predictive maintenance programs on critical plant equipment based on manufacturer’s recommendations or best engineering practices.

What you will bring:

•    B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
•    Professional Engineering designation required.
•    Minimum of 15 years of petrochemical or refinery experience.
•    Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience of managing professionals.
•    Knowledge of SAP maintenance and cost transactions.
•    Knowledge of Risk Management tools like PHA, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Equipment Criticality Analysis, Root Cause Analysis.
•    Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) especially in areas pertaining to asset integrity.
