ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We currently have an opening for an Emergency Response Specialist to join our team and provide specialist Fire Management and Fire Safety Engineering expertise. Your role involves organising and controlling the site emergency response facility / Incident Management Room (IMR) ensuring it meets the needs of the INEOS Businesses and regulatory requirements.

Key accountabilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Emergency Response and Fire Engineering.
  • To stand as the only qualified and competent Fire Engineer.
  • Ensure compliance in all fields of fire safety, fire management and fire engineering.
  • Lead fire engineering problem solving and identification of improvements, to enhance the firefighting capability on the site.
  • Develop incident management team members, assuring team competency by development and delivery of identified training and exercise programmes, meeting requirements of COMAH legislation.
  • Maintain and improve working relationships with external parties, implementing identified processes to improve delivery of on site and off site response.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent experience, within the field of fire & explosion engineering.
  • Be a member of a relevant professional body e.g. IFE.
  • Have in-depth knowledge and experience in risk assessments, fire dynamics, explosion hazards and computer modelling.
  • Be an experienced professional within the field of fire engineering.
  • Be proactive and capable of working independently and unsupervised.
  • Have the ability to develop professional relationships with external governing and 3rd party bodies.
  • Have working knowledge of PHAST risk model.
