About INEOS

INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and a range of derivatives across Europe, Asia and America. We’re part of INEOS - one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.

You will be based at the Hull site, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings and textiles.

Hull is also home to the business's global Technology Development and Support Team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

Acetic acid

Acetic acid is one of the most versatile, organic chemicals manufactured today. It's used in the production of food preservatives, and to make goods such as ink, pharmaceuticals, household cleaning products, textiles, paints, packaging and many more items.

Acetic anhydride

Acetic anhydride is used in everyday products, including detergents, aspirin and paracetamol, wood acetylated products and plastics.

Ethyl acetate

Ethyl acetate (EtAc) is also used in everyday items, such as decaffeination, printing inks, paints, adhesives and nail varnish remover.

Sustainability

Sustainability has always been at the heart of our business in INEOS Acetyls and we have a road map to achieving ‘net zero’ by 2045. To get there we have set ambitious interim targets for 2030 as we continue to create vital products that help others to reduce their carbon footprints and lead the hydrogen revolution. We’re investing in this sustainable future right now, building the infrastructure that will deliver carbon savings with further investment of more than £1bn to come. You could be part of our journey to Net Zero.

Opportunities

We offer unique and unrivalled experiences and opportunities to grow and develop.  As engineers you will work in a variety of different roles within different parts of the business, designed to give you a diverse set of experiences. Embedded within an engineering team you will be given a real job with real responsibilities and will get invaluable exposure to design standards and industry codes plus invaluable site experience.

If you thrive on a challenge and are prepared to push yourself, then INEOS’ open and non-hierarchical approach to business will give you the opportunity to quickly develop your professional capabilities and truly thrive.

During the 4-5 year development programme Graduates can expect to undertake a variety of placements across the site; being given genuine responsibility on live projects from the start – providing the breadth of experience they’d expect from a global organisation.
