ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Assurance Team are looking for an E&I Policy Engineer to provide technical expertise in support of the entire site for complex EC&I engineering activities.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop and interpret engineering procedures, standards and specifications to ensure the business meets its legal obligations and strategic goals.
  • Drive positive change across the site through improving practices, trialling new technologies and working closely with operations and asset engineers across multiple disciplines, including power distribution, process control, analysers, & cyber security.
  • Assist and guide the O&P Assets IE Duty Holders to develop, deliver and sustain an Asset IE equipment maintenance & inspection strategy
  • In support of the Asset IE Duty Holders, develop an asset equipment Asset Life Plan in order to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
  • This role provides the opportunities through exposure, placements and training for extensive personal development leading to professional registration.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of discipline legislative and regulatory requirements and demonstrated ability to appropriately translate these requirements into equipment inspection/maintenance regimes.
  • Act as the Electrical Duty Holder in support of the site Facilities Management team for projects, modifications and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations and quality management audits.

ABOUT YOU

Required:

  • Minimum of degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrument Engineering (or similar) OR have extensive experience (10+ years) with other vocational qualifications.
  • Have a basic of hazardous areas (DSEAR), Functional Safety (BS EN 61511) and operational technology (OT) Cyber Security.
  • Have a keen interest in the legislation and compliance relating to electrical, control and instrumentation engineering activities.
  • Have good working knowledge of the law as it applies to the design, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of electrical and/or instrument equipment.
  • Have experience of following a Management of Change process and associated documentation management systems.
  • Have experience working with maintenance management systems (such as Maximo).
  • Be familiar with using Excel to an advanced level (macros, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Have excellent communication and presenting skills (both written & verbal).
  • Be a strong problem solver who can manage multiple tasks and organise workloads effectively in order to meet deadlines in high pressure situations.
