The Position: To provide multidisciplinary design, drafting and construction management support for the engineering group and maintain the site’s technical library.
What you will do:
• The use of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor and Plant 3D, to provide support to meet sites needs for drawing updates via technical request, management of change request and individual request from a manager or co-worker.
• Will perform field walk downs for drawing verification of dimensions as required.
• Project management support: to take a proposed concept of improvement and assist with the associated engineering drawing updates.
• Convert as-built equipment information to an electronic format and be able to supply the engineering and maintenance departments with the information when requested.
• Provide engineering support services to address MOC action items and processes through implementation if approved.
• Must be able to work in a self-directed manor, working with minimum supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
What you will bring:
- Level of education & knowledge:
- 2-year degree preferred or professional certification.
- Experience in general:
- Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD drawing.
- Technical skills:
- Auto cad experience required, AutoCAD- 3D experience preferred.
- AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is a plus.
- Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, Access Database, etc.
- Working knowledge of ISA standards associated with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Piping, civil, structural and electrical design skills are a plus.
- Competencies, Behavioral skills:
- Behavioral skills: Willing to learn standards and specifications required to adhere to the ASME, ANSI, ASTM, etc. codes and standards typical of a chemical manufacturing site and adhere to those standards for new construction and in the replacement of existing materials.
- Critical Thinking: help the engineering team they work for by spotting problems with plans and designs.
- Detailed Orientated: must pay close attention to details so that plans are technically accurate to the outlined specifications.
- Interpersonal Skills: work closely with engineers and other designers to make sure the final plans are accurate. This requires the ability to take advice and constructive criticism as well as to offer it.
- Math Skills: may require solving mathematical calculations involving angels, weights and costs.
- Time Management: must work efficiently to produce the required output according to set schedules.
- Physical demands:
- Continuous sitting, viewing a computer monitor, use of understanding, memory, concentration, persistence, social interaction and working alone.
- Frequent twisting/turning, reaching above shoulder level and simple grasping and fine manipulation of both hands and the ability to adapt to change.
- Occasional lifting and carrying between 0-20lbs, push/pull from seated and standing position, stooping/crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing, firm grasping of both hands, wearing occlusive clothing, exposer to dust, gas fumes, chemicals, solvents or allergic agents and can make decisions that relate to the position.

The annual base salary for this position typically ranges between $51,568 and $77,352. Additionally, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as part of their total compensation package. This salary range is an estimate based on factors such as candidate qualifications, operational needs, and business performance metrics. Actual compensation may vary above or below the stated range, as permitted by applicable laws in Illinois.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At INEOS Styrolution, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are carefully made based on the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
