Distribution Specialist

The Distribution Specialist – Slurry personnel is responsible for all outbound slurry shipments via railcar and truck. This includes coordinating with multiple departments/carriers and performing functions related to product shipping, billing, COA creation, maintaining customer data, inventory management, and DOT compliance. This is a salaried non-exempt position.  Hours worked are typically 7:00am-3:30pm.  Must be flexible relative to schedule change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhere to all SHE policies and procedures and INEOS Pigments’ Safety 20 Principles and Life Saving Rules
  • Monitor and update daily shipping reports that are used by Production, Landfill, and CSR’s for dispatch of daily deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT/Hazmat shipping requirements
  • Coordinate with carriers and track the movement of outbound shipments to meet customer delivery timeline.
  • Coordinate and support Distribution ISO procedures
  • Ensure scheduled shipments are shipped on time working with Production, IBP, and Customer Service Representatives
  • Perform misc. office administration functions, as well as all other duties as assigned to assist the department needs.
  • Ensure that the workplace is free of harassment, discrimination and that individuals are treated with respect



About You
You should possess:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Additional educational background preferred, particularly leadership skills 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of distribution and logistics experience  
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Functionality with various computer programs (SAP, word, excel, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, environmental and emergency 
  • Administrative office certification and/or advanced education in a related field a plus
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an office administrative position
  • DOT/HAZMAT certifications (ability to acquire)
  • Use of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs
  • Familiarity and use of SAP or similar software program
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment



Schedule/Hours 

This is a salaried exempt, day shift position.
