ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
A highly motivated person with DCS experience is required to join our team to provide technical systems’ expertise and support Asset, TAR and Projects businesses in delivering legal compliance and achieving INEOS OPUK business goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a total asset care service, securing systems against cyber threats and assisting with the recovery of programmable systems during major incidents/emergencies to maximize plant availability.
Depending on skill set and experience, the successful candidate may be part of the DCS on-call rota. The role is also subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record check.
Please note you must hold (or work towards) a full UK driving licence for this role.
Key accountabilities
- Provide ownership and a total asset care service (design, maintenance, modifications, upgrades) ensuring they are maintained to meet business HSE/reliability targets and comply with INEOS Grangemouth standards.
- Maintain and ensure security of local systems domain to prevent Cyber attacks to meet business availability and HSE targets.
- Lead the recovery of programmable systems during major incidents/emergencies to maximize plant availability.
- Act as first point of contact for programmable systems.
- Act as asset technical contact with third party companies support teams.
- Coach/mentor other members of the team.
ABOUT YOU
Required:
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- DCS systems design and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support effective troubleshooting and determine solutions to complex technical problems.
- Ability to understand advanced technical instructional material and data and implement technological advances to existing systems.
- Ability to interface with 3rd party design contractors and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Computer Sciences, Electrical or equivalent.
Desired:
- Knowledge of computer networking.
- Knowledge of backup-recovery process.
- Ability to monitor and maintain existing control/automation systems so that they continue to deliver safe, reliable and optimal plant operation.
- Ability to analyse and understand cross-discipline (Process, I/E) problems/requests.
- Ability to provide technical expertise for peer reviews and other project improvement practices across the complex to ensure project scope and detail meets availability/HSE business requirements.
- Ability to provide construction and commissioning services to automation projects.
