The Position: Customer Account Specialist - The Customer Account Specialist’s role is to be the customer’s primary link with Ineos Styrolution. The Customer Account Specialist’s is responsible for managing the daily activities associated with customer accounts encompassing order receipt, product delivery and invoicing. This includes frequent customer communication.
What you will do:
- This position is required to perform highly complex assignments utilizing a strong grasp of involved processes, procedures and principles. He/she must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Receives, processes, reviews and follows up on customer orders. Checks key order parameters such as availability, specifications, pricing, transportation, etc., and directly initiates the necessary actions required to resolve any obstacles between the customer’ s requirements and Ineos Styrolution’s ability to satisfy them. Understands the overall sales order fulfillment process and is the primary owner/director of a customer order from the time the order is received to the time it is successfully delivered to the customer.
- Serves as liaison for customers with not only internal Ineos Styrolution functions such as Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Credit, Manufacturing, etc., but also external service providers such as warehouses, terminals, carriers, etc., so as to ensure conformance to customer’s requirements. Communicates closely to ensure issues with customer accounts (supply, credit, quality, etc.) are well understood.
- Receives, processes, reviews and follows up on customer inquiries, complaints or non-conformances in order to improve the quality of the relationship between the customer and Ineos Styrolution. At times, directly investigates and determines “root causes” and recommends “corrective actions”.
- Monitors and administers programs developed by commercial that manage the inventories of products under sales allocation or consignment. Often is required to make key decisions outside the specific program guidelines regarding the distribution of these products to customers. Directly informs the customers of problems or opportunities, diffuses their dissatisfaction and creates confidence in them regarding Ineos Styrolution’s ability to equitably and effectively handle these very sensitive and high risk issues.
- Monitors, manages and resolves on a timely basis important day-to-day operational issues which affect the aged trial balance (i.e.profitability) and customer satisfaction, such as unauthorized deductions, debits, credits, volume rebates and accrual accounts. When appropriate, negotiates settlement terms between commercial and customers and reconciles customer accounts.
- In order to effectively respond to customer needs in a timely manner, empowered to authorize overtime at plants, terminals and warehouses and, with a set approval limit, issue credits for freight, miscellaneous adjustments, incorrect pricing (with back-up documentation) and also in certain instances, return of material.
What you will bring:
- Level of education & Knowledge: BA/BS Preferred
- Experience in general: 5 years or more experience in a non-retail customer service environment; knowledge of logistics activities and import/export
- Technical skills: Must have knowledge of SAP Sales and Pricing function - REQUIRED, proficient in Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint, Teams), collection strategies and basic accounting experience to research and resolve invoice discrepancies and general Internet skills to access several types of customer portals/websites for PO, process shipping notices and register invoices
