ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for providing full cost management support for INEOS O&P UK engineering and construction supply contracts. The post holder will provide cost control and reporting for INEOS O&P UK by evaluating and challenging spend for CAPEX & REVEX Projects and Fixed Cost Budgets.

Key accountabilities

  • Cost Management Control
  • Understand & Analyse estimates and challenge costs to ensure they are accurate and will be maintained within the re-measurable, target cost or lump sum contracts.
  • Collate all asset/project commitments to ensure that site approvals remain within sanction and are reported accurately.
  • Create all progress project change orders, ensuring that the cost report correctly reflects the type and value of change and is fully auditable.
  • Forecasting
  • Produce monthly fixed cost & capex forecasts to provide the latest view on the predicted spend profile for the year and/or next 3 months.
  • Review and challenge the forecast information provided to improve the forecast accuracy. 
  • Auditing
  • Identify cost saving opportunities through audit process. Review validity of payment applications to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms & conditions.
  • Cost Control and Integrity of Reporting
  • Analyse and interrogate the various systems on site to ensure accuracy, integrity and transparency of monthly and year-end business reporting.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be educated to HND level in Quantity Surveying/Cost Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Have extensive experience working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-department environment.
  • Have knowledge of different forms of contracts and commercial business process’ including NAECI Agreement (National Agreement Engineering Construction Industry).
  • Be familiar with Maximo/SAP systems.
  • Be able to manage time effectively to achieve targets and objectives within deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent team work and relationship building skills.
  • Be able to use, manipulate and organise systems to obtain required data.

You may also:

  • Be educated to Degree level in Quantity Surveying/Cost Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Have expert knowledge of EPC Contracts, Standard Suites/Bespoke/forms of contract and commercial business process’ & procedures.
