ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Construction Supervisor to join our Hydrocarbons team on-site in Grangemouth. The post holder will lead the field carrying out project and asset construction work and review risk assessments and method statements. The Construction Supervisor will focus on safe working of implementation resources and prepare implementation plans and work packs.

Key accountabilities

  • Be aware of and apply relevant standards, systems and procedures for construction activities to satisfy legislative requirements and meet business goals.
  • Provide construction and mechanical expertise during design safety and engineering reviews to ensure that construction requirements and legislation are complied with.
  • Lead the delivery of construction work in the field, coordinating resources, materials, permits and everything necessary to complete the work on time, in budget, to the design intent and to the required HSE and quality standards.
  • Monitor and report upon delivery, ensure problems are anticipated/identified/flagged at the earliest opportunity and that appropriate solutions are put in place.
  • Review and progress risk assessments and method statements for 3rd party contractors to execute field work and create permits to work for progress to control of work.
  • Review scopes of work, execution plans, method statements and risk assessments to ensure that work can be executed safely and efficiently within timescales.

  • Requirement for individual to coordinate with a range of roles (project managers, finance, purchasing, engineering, operations, contractors etc).

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Have relevant mechanical based qualifications with experience in a mechanical environment or in lieu of qualifications you should have significant relevant experience in a mechanical environment.
  • Be able to understand project processes, budgets and cost control.
  • Be able to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Have disciplined planning and organisation skills.
  • Have a logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrate the personal drive to take responsibility and drive delivery on behalf of the asset.
  • Be enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment.
  • Have a strong commitment to excellent SHE performance and zero tolerance for unsafe behaviours.
  • Have strong network and coordination skills.
