Project Completions Engineer – Contract 12 months
The rolling programme comprises multiple, multi-discipline, concurrent projects across all businesses on the site. Project activities include modifications to existing plant, new builds and frequent turnaround events. The role is to provide completions expertise to the site Project Team and lead the development of completions strategies, driving the completions process to deliver construction and close out of projects, meeting the demand from the INEOS assets at the Grangemouth site.
The Completions Engineer interfaces with the Construction Team, Asset Discipline Engineers, 3rd Party Contractors, Project Managers, the Turnaround Team and others, building strong working relationships with people at all levels. Candidates should have experience in the petrochemicals industry or similar and are likely to be HNC qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject.
Principle Accountabilities of the role:
- Developing Completions Strategies including handover requirements through interfacing with engineers and other project teams.
- Translating multi-discipline drawings and project scope from Approved for Construction packs to define systems/subsystems for handover.
- Describing a construction handover in enough detail to explain the scope being handed over clearly.
- Ensure correct documentation is collated before requesting sign off from the authorised signatories.
- Defining documentation required for phased handover and close out.
- Estimate work hours required per project, managing own time within a tight budget and communicate when something changes.
- Use of various excel, access and web based databases to track, monitor and report progress of projects.
Qualifications and Technical Experience:
- HNC/NVQ/City and Guilds in a relevant engineering discipline or 2 years’ experience in similar role.
- Experience of Completions/Construction/Quality within a Petrochemical environment preferred or similar industry.
- Knowledge of Plant Modification, Punch, As Build, Quality and Document Control and Management processes.
- Prior Turnaround experience is desired.
- Proficient in the use of the main Microsoft Office applications, intermediate Excel would be preferred.
- Be proactive, able to foresee issues, resolve ahead of time and react as situations change with focus on quality.
