FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.
Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth
job purpose
Effective Completion and Close-out Management plays a critical role in ensuring that we deliver our operations, projects and modifications in a safe, reliable and compliant manner.
The role acts as the control authority for our engineering records, registers and completion / closeout processes. The job holder will be required to define the company procedures for the establishment and maintenance of lifecycle engineering information and also set the standard and expectations for closeout of set piece activity such as projects, turnarounds, modifications and decommissioning.
principile accountabilities
- Define and drive effective implementation of standards for the completions and closeout process for set piece activity such as projects, TARs, modifications and decommissioning.
- Provide leadership and oversight to asset Completions Engineers that oversee the completions and handover process for set piece activity.
- Audit and provide assurance that all sections of the completed construction work packs are in a state of completeness / readiness for closeout and that the associated completions documentation and handover packages are in line with project requirements / procedures.
- Oversight of engineering related plant modifications, offering guidance as to the best practice agile approach through set piece events.
- Drives continuous improvement through learnings, departmental audits, lessons learned and adoption of best practice.
- Custodian of the Engineering Technical Query (TQ) and Deviation process, ensuring that deviations to any standards or specifications are robustly documented and approved
- Accountable for development and roll out of procedures / process flows necessary to achieve all close-out activities associated with project portfolio. (All project sizes)
- Accountable for development, and ownership of other business wide systems that manage our critical engineering information. e.g. systems for managing EX registers.
- Accountable for upkeep of Asset Register of Safety Related Device (RSDR) and other critical engineering registers such as Safety Critical Equipment, and EX.
- Producing monthly reports and statistics to demonstrate effectiveness of processes surrounding close out and completion activities.
qualifications and technical experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognised institute, or with substantial and relevant practical experience in oil & gas/ petrochemicals/ refining industry.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of critical engineering information and its application such as Registers of Safety Related Devices (RSRD), EX Registers and critical drawings such as hazardous area drawings.
- An appreciation of critical engineering information across all engineering disciplines including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Metering and Control / Automation
- Strong appreciation of major accident hazards and process safety principles.
- Experience in the development and embedding of robust processes and KPIs
- Task, team and individual management skills; demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills and capability to manage a multi-disciplinary team
- Embodies INEOS rules and behaviours and sets expectations of contractors: ‘20 Principles’ and ‘LSR’
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, SAP, Maximo and document management systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels in the organisation.
