Commercial Business Analyst
INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Business Analyst to join our Joliet business.
The INEOS Joliet facility was originally constructed by Amoco starting in 1957. At our ~775-acre site in Channahon Township (about 40 miles southwest of Chicago) we produce three products - Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA), Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA) and Maleic Anhydride (MAN). Our products are used in a wide range of applications, including PET packaging, unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), coating resins, plasticizers, copolymers, lubricants, and various other resin, ester, and specialty products. INEOS Joliet has an exciting opportunity for an Commercial Business Analyst to join our business. This position will be located at the INEOS Enterprises US Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Objective
The Commercial Analyst will work directly with the VP of Commercial, sales and marketing team and be responsible for analyzing and monitoring the business performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize the product portfolio, profitability and market share. This role will assist the commercial organization on contract management with valuable competitive product, pricing and margin analysis. Support and provide inputs for annual profit targets and lead to its execution. Drive pricing strategies that optimize profitability while maintaining market share. The position prepares commercial reports and presentations, refreshes the commercial team's market intelligence tools, and maintains commercial KPIs.
Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for commercial month end-close and future forecast ensuring that volume and price are accurately reported.
- Responsible for analyzing and reporting product contribution margin.
- Responsible for maintaining market intelligence data base and creating a monthly report for the commercial team.
- Responsible for the preparation of key management business reports and presentations.
- Responsible for maintaining price list, price formula database and evaluating impact of company price policy in the market.
- Responsible for analyzing raw materials cost and cost forecast, advising on alternative suppliers and supporting management in contract process.
- Analyze and assess public market research data on customers, suppliers, and adjustment markets that may impact profitability, and news including competitive analysis of publicly traded competitor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering.
- 5 years of experience in marketing, commercial/sales planning, financial analysis and/or strategy development
- Prior chemical industry experience is a plus
- Strong competency in working with SAP, Excel, and other analytical tools as may be needed
- Sales & Market analysis experience
- Financial analysis/accounting
- Experience in evaluating business work processes to identify potential improvements
- Ability to lead project teams
- Excellent technology/computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, BI)
- Financial acumen
