This is a non-exempt union hourly role with local responsibilities supporting Ashtabula Plant  Operations. The Chemical Operator works a rotating shift schedule to package our dry titanium dioxide (TiO2) product in small and large bags as well as load slurry into trucks and railcars. They operate automated packaging equipment, forklifts and shuttle wagons to move railcars on site.This is a safety critical role.

Experience

  • Completed secondary/high school education or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing, construction trades, military, or secondary education
  • Working knowledge Safety and Operating Procedures in addition to the Maintenance Work Order and Scheduling systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Computer literate
  • Capable of repetitively lifting 55 lb. (25 kg) bags
  • Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to open and close valves of various sizes
  • Able to work in outdoor environment in all seasonal weather extremes.

Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all SHE policies and procedures and INEOS Pigments’ 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
  • Data entry of daily production and inventory, including for midnight reports
  • Monitor in-process quality results for slurry production and packaging quality for dry production
  • Transfer of product from FPO area to warehouse
  • Unload raw materials for the production department
  • Utilize SAP bar code procedures for all moves
  • Monitor Maintenance activity in the FPO area, including signing of work permits, including the preparation of equipment
  • Load slurry trucks and railcars
  • Railroad full and empty slurry cars for release or cleaning
  • Operate high density sand mills and all associated slurry equipment
  • Packing dry pigment to small bags and bulk bags
  • Gather and prepare samples for quality testing
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours/Pay:

The Finished Product Operator hourly rate of pay is $31.65 per hour

This is a rotating shift position.
