A fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Mechanical Engineer has become available with an industry leading company on a top COMAH site in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
Details about the Role and Resonsibility:
Ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment complies with legislative and INEOS SHE standards and policies.
- Ensures all mechanical engineering procedures fully comply with legislative and company standards.
- Manages the implementation of all statutory SHE audits and ensures they are completed on time and in full.
- Reviews all proposed changes to mechanical equipment and/or procedures and authorises the new methods to be used.
- To lead the planning and implementation of mechanical maintenance activities on the asset(s).
- To ensure both planned and breakdown activities are completed safely and effectively.
- Ensure mechanical engineer and maintenance roles are clearly defined and maintenance activities are fully delivered.
- Manage the maintenance team to ensure the delivery of availability excellence.
- Ensure statutory inspections are planned, implemented, recorded and any corrective actions are followed up to achieve compliance.
- To ensure that mechanical engineering problems are investigated and solutions implemented that meet SHE and performance standards.
- To determine the potential impact of mechanical engineering problems.
- To develop options for investigation and analysis of the problem.
- To provide engineer resource to conduct the analysis and solution options.
- To lead and implement high level/impact solutions requiring their extensive knowledge and experiences.
- To provide authorisation for the solution to be implement.
- To develop and implement the mechanical engineering strategy that ensures the asset(s) integrity and compliance with legislative and company standards.
- Develops the mechanical engineering strategy for asset(s) integrity to achieve future growth and sustainability.
- Ensure Capex projects are implemented and completed to the required SHE and Mechanical Engineering standards.
- Develops and manages mechanical engineering systems and procedures.
- Champions the exploitation of technology to ensure competitive advantage.
- Manages the mechanical engineer(s) and maintenance teams priorities.
- Ensure that the mechanical engineering procedures and actions taken fully comply to legislative and INEOS standards.
- Manage the training and appointment of competent engineers for the legislative authorisation processes for mechanical engineering.
- Ensure that the authorisation process fully complies with legislative and Company standards.
- Manage the auditing process for legislative authorisations and the implementation of any resulting activities.
- Manage and monitor the mechanical fixed cost budget within agreed targets.
- Ensure costs are within the agreed spend targets.
- Manage and monitor the budget to deliver within the targets.
- Prepare the monthly spend report with clear rationales against any differences.
Level of education & Experience in general
An Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years post graduate experience. Engineering chartership or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years experience of mechanical engineering on a Chemical production unit.
