ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT & JOB PURPOSE

INEOS Energy is the energy division of INEOS. We produce and trade oil, gas, power, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. Operating across the Danish and UK North Sea with offshore oil and gas assets, onshore assets in South Texas, US and a recently acquired portfolio in the deepwater of the Gulf of America. This is supported by our investments and projects in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

The key focus for INEOS Energy Trading US (IETUS) is a single face to market ensuring stable, reliable market access and fair market values amongst all commodities while also pursuing value-adding growth and opportunities.

IETUS is looking for a skilled Cash Trader and Senior Scheduler to join our dynamic team in the USA. This role involves developing and executing marketing strategies for natural gas assets, managing large-scale transactions, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess deep market knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and execute marketing and trading strategies for natural gas assets across North America.
  • Negotiate and structure deals with producers, traders, utilities, and end-users.
  • Monitor market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and pricing to maximize profitability.
  • Manage physical gas transactions, ensuring timely delivery and settlement.
  • Oversee operational aspects of gas transportation, storage, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as INEOS policies.
  • Coordinate with technical and logistical teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Prepare market analysis, trading reports, and risk management documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market opportunities.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Education & Experience

  • Proven experience in natural gas trading, marketing, or operational roles within the energy sector.
  • Understanding of US natural gas intrastate, interstate and gathering pipeline scheduling, operations and constraints
  • Strong understanding of North American gas markets, pricing mechanisms, and trading platforms.
  • Knowledge of gas transportation systems, storage facilities, and operational safety standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or relevant field; relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a trading, energy, or fast-paced corporate environment preferred
