Purpose of the Job:
This role is to 1. Support development of business strategy and identification of new business opportunities; 2. Lead execution of approved BD activity and project plans, and 3. Within broader strategic framework, develop and provide leadership of Asia sustainability strategy planning and execution.
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job:
Accountability 1 : Business Development - 50%
Most important activities:
- Support Head of Asia Strategy and BD to develop Aromatics Asia business growth strategy and associated execution plans.
- Lead both internal and external strategic analysis to develop and improve insights on Aromatics business environment, and drive studies relating to competitive landscape of the entire value chain.
- Collaborate with commercial teams in Asia to build, track and maintain a robust pipeline of business growth opportunities with existing and new partners in the value chain.
- Partner with regional and global commercial team to develop and execute business cases for capital expenditure.
Accountability 2 : Sustainability Management - 40%
Most important activities:
- Lead, influence and deliver a range of sustainability focused initiatives to reach our regional sustainability agenda with focuses on circular economy, carbon footprint, etc.
- Act as focal from Aromatics Asia for sustainability related topics, actively contribute to global network for collaboration in regular reporting, information knowledge sharing.
- Support Asia Business Director and Head of Asia Strategy & BD to shape long term road maps to drive incremental business value consistent with broader strategy
- As expertise centre of sustainability topics, to help our colleagues better understand and engage in the agenda through internal sharing sessions.
Accountability 3 : Technology licensing activities in China - 10%
- Collabrate with technology team and licensees in China to complete the contract execution.
Required profile:
- Degree in Chemistry, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Over 15 years of working experience in related industry or industries with similar business model.
- Aromatics market knowledge (e.g.business model, industry trend, value chain) in the key markets, like China and Indonesia
- Strong commercial and financial acumen and ability to identify economic drivers. Good analytical skill to translate them into implications to our business
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiating, and influencing skills both internally and externally with stakeholders; fluent in English communication
- A highly motivated self-starter, being capable of finding ways to add value. Must demonstrate the ability to make wise decisions typically in complex and ambiguous situations.
