Job Title: BI Developer Department: Information Technology

Summary of Position
We are seeking a BI Developer with expertise in PowerBI and Snowflake along with strong SQL skills to join our growing team. As a BI developer, you will be responsible for creating appealing and insightful data visualizations to help drive data-informed decision-making across our organization. Your ability to transform complex data into intuitive and actionable visual representations will be key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business stakeholders, and developers, to gather requirements and understand business needs for data visualization projects.
  • Design, develop, and implement interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using PowerBI.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Snowflake for analysis and visualization purposes.
  • Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from Snowflake and other databases.
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure data quality, data integrity, and optimal performance of visualizations.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of visualizations to ensure accuracy, usability, and adherence to business requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data visualization and recommend innovative approaches to enhance data presentation and storytelling.
  • Provide training and support to end users to maximize the effective use of PowerBI dashboards and visualizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field a plus. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role, with a strong focus on PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Snowflake, including data loading, data modeling, and querying.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and the ability to write complex queries efficiently.
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry and familiarity with drilling, completion, and field operations data and processes a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis, data visualization best practices, and storytelling techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with other visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, QlikView, or D3.js is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts is a plus.

Relocation:

Preferential treatment will be granted to candidates residing in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $117,000 - $171,000. with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 27% of eligible pay. This role, depending on skill level and experience, may also participate in the Long-Term Incentive Plan with annual awards, vesting over three years, ranging from 8-16% of stated annual target. These ranges are estimates, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
