How the Role Fits In:

The Benefits Analyst IV, operates as a trusted key partner to the Benefits Manager, Benefits Director, HR leadership, Finance, Legal, Payroll, IT, and external consultants.  This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating organizational goals into effective benefits design and operations.


As a senior individual contributor, the role provides leadership through influence rather than direct supervision.  The Benefits Analyst IV leads major benefit projects, mentors less-experienced benefits team members, and serves as an escalation point for advanced or sensitive benefit matters.  The position contributes to company-wide initiatives, supports compliance and audit readiness, and helps drive consistency and best practices across the Benefits operations. 

This role is essential in ensuring that benefits programs support workforce attraction, retention, and engagement while balancing regulatory requirements and cost management priorities. 

The Main Purpose of the Role: 

The Benefits Analyst IV serves as a senior-level individual contributor responsible for strategic oversight, design support, and advanced administration of health, welfare, retirement, and related benefits programs across North America.  The role provides expert analysis, project leadership, and advisory support to ensure benefit programs remain compliant, competitive, cost effective, and aligned with organizational strategy.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and advanced administration of benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement, leaves, and wellness, ensuring compliance, financial stewardship, and operational excellence.
  • Provide day-to-day support for over 40 H.R. contacts across all INEOS US businesses.
  • Lead complex benefits initiatives such as plan redesign, vendor changes, renewals, implementations, system configuration, and large-scale employee communications.
  • Analyze utilization, claims, and cost data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; develop recommendations that support cost containment and long-term benefits strategy.
  • Build and present financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to Benefits leadership and management to support decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex employee, HR, legal, and vendor issues related to benefits.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Payroll, IT, and external consultants to ensure alignment on benefits strategy, compliance, testing, and execution.
  • Oversee vendor performance and governance, including managing service issues, reviewing reporting, and leading vendor RFPs and negotiations with consultant support.
  • Ensure readiness for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance requirements by overseeing documentation, data integrity, and compliance calendars.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within benefits processes and systems; design and implement improved controls and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing support to junior Benefits Analysts to strengthen team capability and consistency.
  • Lead open enrollment strategy and execution, including vendor coordination, system updates, testing, communication planning, and employee education.
  • Own and optimize benefits-related documentation, SharePoint content, and employee-facing materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and ease of use.
  • Partner on wellness strategy development, vendor management, and program evolution to support employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Support the Benefits Manager and HR leadership with strategic projects, enterprise initiatives, and evolving organizational priorities.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

Level of Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Human Resource, Business Administration, Finance or related field.   
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, benefits strategy, payroll, and/or HRIS/HCM systems (retirement and regulatory experience strongly preferred)
  • Chemical industries experience a plus.

Skills and Competencies

Technical skills

  • Superior Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, are required. 
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. health, welfare, retirement, and leave program regulations and compliance requirements.
  • High level of proficiency with HRIS/benefits systems; Workday experienced preferred.
  • Behavioral skills

  • Self-starting individual who can work with a minimum of direction.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to discuss and explain complex concepts concisely to individuals across the organization.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.
