The Role: Automotive Technical Author
Working closely with both the Aftersales and wider commercial teams, and alongside Technical Service Engineering disciplines, the Technical Author, will be responsible for the creation of both technical & process documentation. With a primary focus on the development and publication of external campaign documents, the technical author will take measures to improve the efficient authoring and delivery, as well as the quality and accuracy of all aftersales documentation. The Author will also work closely with the wider commercial department as a “process coach”, and be responsible for the administration of quality documents, evaluating process descriptions and re-authoring documents where required to maintain a compliant standard throughout all internal publication.
Duties of the Automotive Technical Author:
- Primarily Responsible for the authoring and publication of external Technical Service Bulletins related to campaigns and field actions
- Responsible for maintaining the internal process documentation to the ISO9001 standard by becoming the Aftersales Process Coach and working closely with the Quality Management team to identify improvement opportunities throughout the aftersales process landscape
- Accountable for the delivery and authoring SLAs for all external campaigns and technical bulletins
- Monitor all internal Campaigns & Recall related reports & attend appropriate meetings as required
For our Automotive Technical Author we are looking for:
- Technical knowledge & appreciation of Automotive Quality standards , as well as some general knowledge of other automotive disciplines such as engineering & manufacturing
- Significant Automotive Aftersales experience
- Include vehicle manufacturer or wider motor trade experience.
- Recognisable technical qualification or experience-based equivalent
