Purpose of the job:

With responsibility for on-site IT infrastructure, this is a key role in the day-to-day IT support provision.  Working within the IT Team, the role delivers day to day systems administration, helpdesk support and communications provision.

Environment/Context:

This is a hands-on IT support position supporting the day-to-day needs of the users, both on-site and remote, it also involves the caretaking of the local server infrastructure (configuration, management and backup) as well as working with the Global o365 Team to deliver local 0365 support to site. This will involve working with the Exchange, Sharepoint, Azure and Teams admin portals.

Accountabilities of the job:

ERP support and project management

  • Server caretaking, configuration and administration.

  • Workstation caretaking, configuration and administration.

  • Microsoft o365 and Teams configuration and administration.

  • Supporting users by delivering IT service and helping problem solving.

  • Basic hardware repair/assembly/troubleshooting.

  • Backup configuration/administration, including backup media handling.

  • Network provisioning, configuration, troubleshooting and repair.

  • Recommending system upgrades, problem solutions and service improvements

  • Equipment logistics

  • Ensure critical business operations are consistently operational, safeguarded and functional.

  • Able to script software installations, configuration changes, management reporting and o365 support using Powershell, batch files, KACE and similar tools.

Level of Education & Experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a related discipline

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support activities

Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server family – administration and configuration

  • Administration of o365

  • VMWare – setup and maintenance of VMware hosts and guests.

  • Windows Powershell – for scripting deployments, task automation and o365 management

  • Database administration – MS SQL/Oracle

  • Package assembly and delivery – KACE

  • Active Directory – management/policies/configuration

  • DNS service provision and management

  • Basic Linux/Unix skills

  • Cabling/networking skills – especially routing multiple subnets

  • PC/Laptop/Server/Printer basic repair and troubleshooting

  • Good customer/communication skills

  • Self-starter with track-record of dependability and reliability.
