BUSINESS CONTEXT:
Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants, as well as a host of other chemical intermediates including Glycol Ethers, Polyethlene Glycols, Ethanolamines, and Alkyl Alkanolamines.
INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs). We currently have a total EO capacity of 920 kta spread across three different production units throughout Europe. These units have leading cost economics, due to economies of scale, state-of-the-art technology, strategic locations, etc. Our recently announced EO project in the US is targeting the fast growing merchant EO market, building on our experience and leadership position in Europe.
Purpose of the Job:
This position is responsible for implementing human resources policies, programs, and practices for INEOS Oxide. The HR Representative will contribute to the policies and programs regarding hiring, employee relations, orientations, benefits, rewards, and community relations. Duties will also include communicating policies and procedures for the Human Resources Department and recommending strategies and practices to management, as well as coaching and counselling employees.
This position serves as a member of the INEOS Oxide US, and Oxide Plaquemine Site Leadership teams, providing leadership in areas such as Safety, HR, Administration, Dow, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Operations, and CAPEX projects..

- This position – and all positions – with the INEOS Oxide US organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. These Principles are posted throughout each Oxide facility and each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis. These are also posted within each Oxide facility.

- Advise and counsel leaders and employees
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions for all new hires/transfers and exit interviews for leavers
- Conduct investigations in a fair and equal manner
- Facilitate Open Enrollment process and ensure all elections are accurately entered
- Ensure benefits and policies are accurate and available online to all employees
- Manages annual performance appraisal process in addition to annual salary administration increases for INEOS Oxide Plaquemine Site
- Administer random drug testing program under the guidelines of the Substance Abuse Policy for Plaquemine Site
- Ensure changes/additions to company benefits and policies are communicated to the employee population
- Ensure all job descriptions are up to date and in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Develop & manage Wellness Program for INEOS Oxide Plaquemine Site
Accountability 3:
Leadership and Personnel
Most important activities
- Works closely with the Site Leader for retention of key personnel within budget limitations as necessary
- Ensure proper implementation of various human resource activities including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and rewards
- Leads recruiting efforts for INEOS Oxide Plaquemine
- Counsels and supports Plaquemine Site Leadership as well as employees
- May serve on internal teams at the site as required
- May develop, coordinate, or assist with HR training activities as needed or requested by Management
Accountability 4:
Compensation and Employee Reporting and Analysis
Most important activities
- Prepare and/or maintain special internal and external reports regarding slary, employee demographics, FTEs, etc.
- Prepare annual compensation survey analysis when requested; suggest salary proposals and other recommendations as necessary
- Works together with Accounting Manager on the preparation of the annual manpower budget
Accountability 5:
Payroll Support
Most important activity
- Provide payroll support when needed including but not limited to:
- Processing bi-weekly payroll
- Providing necessary reports to Finance and colleagues related to payroll
- Remaining current on all processes and procedures related to the activity.
Skills/Competencies
Level of Education & Experience in general
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Human Resources; equivalent, relevant experience, or combination of education and experience
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP Certification preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills
- Strong computer skills with exceptional Microsoft Office experience
- HR Information System experience, preferably Ceridian HPW and Workday
- Extensive knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and related state & federal regulations
Behavioral Skills
- Must be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels
- Ability to lead change, influence outcomes, and provide coaching and consultation as needed
- Must possess keen attention to ensuring accuracy and follow up on unresolved issues

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands. The employee must occasionally walk, stand and travel by car, airplane or other means. Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
