ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are currently looking for a Technical Accountant to join the European Accounting Team working on-site at our office in Grangemouth.  The position is in the Financial Accounting Team who provide transaction accounting services to a number of businesses based both in the UK and abroad.

Key accountabilities

  • Preparing and reviewing annual and interim statutory accounting reporting for a number of legal entities including consolidated accounts.
  • Providing technical support to ensure that reporting is in line with the latest developments in IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Section leader for a team of 4 people supporting VAT and asset accounting.
  • Be the technical accounting SME for key group projects.
  • Identify changes in accounting treatments and assess their impact on the reporting entities.
  • Liaise with site reporting accountants to collate additional information required to complete the consolidated financial accounts.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be a Qualified Accountant with significant post qualifying experience in a Financial Accounting/Reporting role within a multinational organisation.
  • Have strong technical knowledge and understanding of financial standards including IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Have experience in statutory reporting and audit procedures.
  • Be an experienced user of MS Office applications i.e. Excel.
  • Be able to lead a small team.
  • Have strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be proactive.

You may also:

  • Have SAP, Qlikview and Hyperion experience.
  • Understand the principals of European VAT rules / VAT laws.
  • Have experience in the preparation of charity accounts.
