Job Title: Accountant, Revenue & Royalties – US Gulf
Department: Finance
Summary of Position We are seeking an experienced Revenue and Royalties Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will work closely with Marketing and Asset teams to ensure that all aspects of the assigned area of accounting are recorded timely and accurately. This role applies principles of accounting to record production, revenue and royalties, analyze financial information, and prepare financial reports.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze sales and pricing information to accurately and timely record revenue on offshore properties in SAP PRA.
- Collect, analyze and input accrual volume and pricing information.
- Reconcile accruals to actual revenue and perform analysis of volume and price variances.
- Prepare entries and schedules to account for gas balancing and oil pipeline imbalances.
- Gather, analyze, and utilize appropriate data and agency regulations to prepare offshore federal royalty reports (primarily ONRR-2014).
- Support internal and external audit requirements in revenue and royalty areas. • Coordinate with Land and Legal departments as needed to resolve any discrepancies of payments, or questions regarding interpretation of state or federal regulations.
- Review gas well head reconciliations and overriding royalty interest (ORRI) income as prepared by Operations Accountant for accuracy and completeness.
- Act as primary liaison with Trading and Marketing team for all revenue related matters.
- Prepare Royalty relief documentation in compliance with federal regulations.
- Provide schedules and detail analysis of revenue to support month-end/quarter-end reporting.
- Prepare material for monthly production and financial results reviews. Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
- A minimum of five to ten years of revenue reporting and analysis; Oil and Gas industry
- Experience required with exposure to field operating practices and revenue accounting • Experience with knowledge of oil and gas accounting principles and procedures and federal royalty payments preferred
- Detailed use/understanding of SAP is preferred.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Outlook
- Able to structure work around deadlines and reporting requirements
- Proactive and analytical with strong problem-solving skills • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

This role will be exempt, and compensation includes both an annual salary and incentive compensation schemes.
