The INEOS Oligomers division includes a wide range of products ranging from LAO, PAO and PIB to Specialty Oligomers, iso-paraffines, cyclopentane and isoamylene which are made in Europe and in the Americas and sold worldwide.

Purpose of the job:

Serve as key member of the Marina View Finance team with the primary responsibility of directly maintaining the business cash and treasury reporting and forecasting systems on a global basis. Will be the primary banking and treasury liaison between the business, banks, and central treasury departments. Creation of key metrics and analysis to optimize the company’s cash positions. Finance team member with the responsibilities of supporting various business initiatives, understanding of the various business processes as they relate to the finance area, support for monthly and annual closing, reporting, and planning processes, reporting of results into teams into various reporting entities/systems.  Active participation in various audit activities, both internal and external.

Environment/Context:

  • Availability and accuracy of information needed for analysis and reporting – work closely with sources to receive information in a timely manner; identify business cash needs and identify/correct variances and anomalies and establish automated checks to ensure information accuracy.

  • Working relationships – develop strong relationships with working teams across the global landscape (US, Canada, Asia, Europe), regular communications and coordination with key people in the cash management cycle.

  • Trust of Leadership – develop trust of leadership, essential for working with sensitive information.

  • Ambiguity and/or incompleteness of information – exercise judgement and experience to best utilize ambiguous and/or incomplete information as needed 

  • Automated analysis tools – optimize capabilities of automation to process and analyse large volumes of information, especially monthly and annual cash flow and banking reports.

  • Competing priorities – prioritize and manage complex requirements, particularly during key reporting periods (closing, forecasting, budget, year-end).

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Coordinate cash requirements with Central Treasury and provide daily/weekly cash forecast for Oligomers and Malmo

  • Prepare funding / return excess requests to optimize cash flow for the business

  • Initiate foreign exchange currency trades as required to meet business demands

  • Ensuring positive bank account balances daily by performing and reporting cash position from banks.

  • Manage notional and virtual cash reporting processes

  • Assistance with wires and "one off" payments

  • Gather and prepare transactional documents for external auditing.

  • Develop and maintain product margin analysis - communicate trends to Commercial teams, assist in developing specific strategies to support growth and profitability improvements

  • Monitor sales to ensure no breaches of embargoed countries

  • Provide annual sales reporting by country to INEOS Group

  • Develop understanding of key Oligomers business metrics/processes to support analytical needs of the business

  • Review and maintain global transfer pricing system

  • Frequently serve on global SAP project teams

  • Processing of sales and use tax payments in various jurisdictions

  • Processing of superfund tax

  • Preparation of property tax renditions

  • Maintain and improve Process Documentation on treasury operations and other finance processes

  • Provide analysis required for various government reporting & tax packages, including FBAR

  • Provide necessary assistance during the monthly close process so that the financial results of our site are accurately completed on a timely basis.  This includes recording of accruals, overhead costs, utilities, third party service bill-outs, etc.

  • Monitor adherence to Ineos Accounting Policy Manual. Prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, or control improvements.

  • Proficient in the use of SAP, using that expertise to provide support to other users.

  • Provide backup role for monthly reporting and closing processes

  • Support for inventory valuation processes for the purposes of reporting/forecasting key adjustments (e.g. COSA, FCIS, UPIS, and NRV)

  • Assist in maintenance of the materials management system

  • Direct Pay Sales & Use Tax compliance/reporting.

  • Coordinate external financial and sales and use tax audits.

  • Ensure relevant balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled to supporting documentation and proactively identify and resolve any issues or reconciling items.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

  • College degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. 

  • CPA or MBA degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years cash management in a business setting.

  • Experience in understanding impact of foreign currency translations on business.

  • Demonstrated record of gaining trust of leadership in working on sensitive issues.

  • Track record of establishing strong relationship with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization to deliver creative, effective solutions in a difficult and changing business environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language.

  • Strong planning and organizing skills with an ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and innovatively to uncover new opportunities.

  • Successful project team leadership experience with at least small multi-functional business teams.

  • Possess excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills across all levels and organizational boundaries.

Skills/Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office products EXCEL, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook required.  Working familiarity in Microsoft Access desired.

  • Demonstrated SAP user reporting expertise desired.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.  The employee must occasionally walk, stand and travel by car, airplane or other means.   Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.

Work Environment:  This job is performed mainly in a temperature-controlled office environment.
