background
FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.
Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.
It’s an exciting time at FPS; a significant rejuvenation programme is underway across its assets, infrastructure and business systems. The Transformation team is playing its part by delivering a suite of operating model improvement aimed at modernising, digitising and streamlining ways of working – in support of FPS’ commitment to safely and sustainably provide a share of the UK’s energy and chemical needs to 2040+.
job purpose
Support FPS’ Transformation agenda through robust project leadership and management, ensuring change is appropriately designed and thoroughly embedded within the business
Deliver small-to-medium business improvement projects, or own workstreams on larger transformation programmes, that range from operating model changes; digitisation of existing processes and systems; enhancing ways of working and embedding performance change
principle accountabilities
- Deliver a portfolio of projects, concurrently, as the single point of accountability for all aspects of project management within the portfolio remit
- Manage internal FPS stakeholders for alignment of business case for change, objectives, scope and specification development, through to deployments and operation
- Manage the selection, relationships and performance of third party vendors from Request for Proposal (RfP) development through all stages of the project
- Manage a range of internal stakeholders, being considerate of the business’ time and availability to maximise value-add collaboration
- Manage and mitigate project risk on quality, schedule and tightly controlling cost within agreed budgets – escalating appropriately and swiftly where necessary
- Manage the assurance and rollout of business improvements through coordination of training and management system materials
- Owning all aspects of larger programme workstreams: Project deliverables, agreed successful outcomes and integration with adjacent workstreams
- Support the Programme Management Office (PMO) with timely project reporting and updates to FPS senior management and wider business
- Deliver Transformation communication materials: High quality and concise project comms across multiple channels
- Report project progress within Program Management Office (PMO) Own and manage project communications

The role is flexible on location, but will require periodic attendance at INEOS FPS Headquarters in Grangemouth for key meetings: Kick-off sessions, workshops, reports-outs and working sessions.
qualifications and technical experience
- Degree qualified: preferably a STEM subject
- Experience of working in consulting (e.g. Big 4, Accenture/ others), or internal Transformation project teams, managing workstreams or small to medium size projects
- Experience of asset intensive industry: Nuclear, Utilities or preferably energy / chemicals / oil & gas industries (bonus, not essential)
- Able to deliver a varied range of improvement projects; preferably has experience of working with site engineering and operations teams
- Highly structured, analytical, concise and ability to quickly identify key issues challenges
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
