ain role purpose:
The post holder manages product development activities to deliver profitability objectives in line with the Business Unit strategy.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Deliver profitability linked to new products and cost synergy targets as part of the wider team.
  • Develop and keep close relationships with innovative customers, prescriptors and end-users to identify innovation opportunities and develop market intelligence. 
  • Develop new products to bring new solutions to the market, generating high added value based on market innovation opportunities, while ensuring product mix optimisation is in line with marketing and global strategy.
  • Manage development projects in cooperation with customers, partners in general and internal/external R&D resources and provide technical support to customers when appropriate. 
  • Define, propose and deliver innovation plans with key account customers in coordination with sales colleagues and the Commercial Excellence Manager.

Key skills & knowledge required:

  • Degree in science or equivalent (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials/Polymer Science).
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical and marketing experience in the chemical and/or polymer industry. Product development experience is desirable.
  • Fluent written and spoken English essential; Spanish desired. 
  • Experience in working with multicultural teams and in managing technical and marketing relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of processes, products and technologies in the plastics industry.
  • Strong technical and marketing skills to detect and develop new market opportunities.
  • Able to detect opportunities and to transform them into new business.
  • Able to manage development projects, both from a technical and marketing point of view.
  • At ease when working and implementing change.
  • Strong leadership, communication and entrepreneurship skills.
