We are looking for a

Technical & Compounding Sales Manager

Shanghai,China

Objectives:    

This position performs a variety of functions. These duties include but are not limited to travelling to customer sites, understanding technical challenges, providing solutions, prospecting and consulting with new customers and industries, partnering with marketing to enhance market industrial products.

Main Tasks:

Compounding partner selection to align with compounding strategy in APAC

  • Search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximise client potential in designated regions.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs.
  • Maintain all technical, service record and case history on customer sales.

Business Development 

  • Provide technical support such as organizing technical seminar, workshop to introduce and promote products for sales / industry team.
  • Assist in conducting market analysis and presenting findings to the Head of Sales to develop and enhance the product offerings.
  • Utilize corporate resources and initiate the sales process to build and nurture new accounts as well as prospect and build new relationships.
  • Provide product training to customers to promote new products and solutions to enable them to sell the product.
  • Coordinate product releases with the marketing, sales, development, and service teams.
  • Explore new ways of improving existing services and products as a way of increasing profitability.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with team member and management in a team environment.   

Product & Technical

  • Responsible to know and understand all products’ availability, use benefits and pricing structure.
  • Provide input in contractual agreements for products and services.
  • Consult with customers and provide technical expertise and recommendations based on the required applications.
  • Partner with the marketing team to contribute information towards the marketing strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from the industry.
  • Participation in new and changed product development, formulation and specification of these products and plant trials.
  • Provide technical information to the customers and carry out trials and various activities to get an approval for customer’s usage.

Key Account Management

  • Develop sales strategies to acquire new customers or clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients.
  • Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources, and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Implement sales forecast management, e.g. production numbers, material consumption, monitoring & accuracy reviews.
  • Develop detailed customer strategies for selected customers.

Market Intelligence & Market Development

  • Develop and report updates on market trends, the application of products/ technology and service needs, etc to support in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Studying competitors’ services and products.
  • Contact related industry associations to collect market and industry information
  • Research, identify and develop existing and potential customer portfolio.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:

Level of education & Knowledge:  

  • Minimum Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Experience in general:

  • 5 ~ 8 years related technical service experiences and compounding production within the plastic industry
  • Knowledge and experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Understanding of financial statement      

Technical skills:

  • Pro-found understanding of the polymerization process o   Compounding process and engineering background
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, both writing and speaking
