FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth

job purpose

Working as part of the Turnaround Team provide Process Engineering in compliance with Ineos FPS standards and the TAR common process.

principle accountabilities

  • Provide Process Engineering expertise to ensure the Turnaround is delivered safely & on time.
  • Develop Process System methodology to allow safe Process release of plant & a leak free start up.
  • Produce Management of Change (MOC) documentation required for minor plant modifications.
  • Develop leak testing methodology for plant re-commissioning process ensuring relevant MOCs & procedures are in place.
  • Participate in TAR Scope definition & challenge process
  • Manage works on site undertaken by the Nitrogen purging contractor
  • Input to planning, logic & resource requirements for Process Engineering elements of integrated TAR plan.
  • Carry out self-verification audits to ensure compliance with Operational & Process Engineering standards

The Turnaround team is multi-disciplined and consists of a mixture of staff and agency personnel. In addition to this there are interfaces with Asset Engineering and Maintenance teams as well as 3rd party contractors. The post holder must be comfortable working within this multi-disciplinary environment. This role may be required to work additional hours on the lead up and to support the TAR event based on operational requirements.

qualifications and technical experience

  • Educated to Degree level or Equivalent in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Three years’ experience of Process Engineering within an Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemical environment.
  • Prior Turnaround experience would be preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Management of Change processes
  • Experience and knowledge of Industrial Leak testing
  • Experience in Contractor Management
