Systems Support Specialist - UK/EU

The Role: Reporting directly into the Global Applications & Development Manager Systems Support Specialists provide technical support for business-critical systems within the INEOS Enterprises footprint. This covers installation, upgrading, documenting, troubleshooting, and tendering for applications. The succesful postholder will not be expected to have deep knowledge of ERP systems but must have a high-level appreciation of how they work, especially with interfaces and work very closely with the SAP Functional Analysts.

Location: The succesful candidate must be based within commuting distance of an INEOS Enterprises site in Europe with Right to Work in that particular region - see Locations for details

Accountabilities:

  • This role is both a technical and process expert for the applications within the INEOS Enterprises environment.  Provide configuration and end user support, tracking and resolving inquiries and issues.  Escalate issues to vendor support as necessary. 
  • Work closely with business SMEs and managers to understand the end user perspective and procedures.  Review and document processes within the application footprint as it relates to the specific business within INEOS Enterprises use.  Work with the business to ensure application accuracy and end-user continuity.  Provide training only where possible in business-critical systems only.
  • Promote the use of standard functionality within the system and rationalize the use of applications.  Gather and document detailed requirements for business needs and collaborate with technical resources to determine moderately complex functional and/or solution designs.
  • Understanding of application lifecycle including identification of test scenarios and coordination of testing.  This includes coordination of upgrades, new functionality, enhancements and obtaining user acceptance
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other INEOS Enterprises I.T colleagues on upcoming changes in order to identify if there is an impact on a given application.
  • Assist the Global Application & Development Manager with renewal/upgrade/new application scenarios. Providing insight to the end user community and the possible business impacts of a proposal.

Education & Qualifications required:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant IT or Business discipline or extensive experience within systems support.

Technical Skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience in application administration, support and troubleshooting
  • User management within applications
  • Experience with designing and troubleshooting integrations
  • Good technical experience with RDMS, specifically SQL Server
  • Powershell experience
  • Experience in systems development (Desirable) - this includes managed languages such as Java or .NET all the way to no code solutions such as Power Automate.
  • Tivoli experience (Desirable)
  • Experience of any middleware (Desirable)
