Support Network Analyst

Ineos Acetyls is a business engaged in the entire petrochemical value chain, from manufacturing through to marketing and sales. Ineos Acetyls is one of the world's leading manufacturers of acetic acid and its derivatives, and owns & deploys its leading technology in Europe, Asia and US.

Ineos Acetyls Hull is the European manufacturing facility and is of significant strategic importance to the global business, with a focus on manufacturing petrochemicals as well as research & technology. The Hull site produces three key products and operates six discreet manufacturing plants.

With responsibility for on-site IT network infrastructure, this is a key role in the day-to-day IT support provision.  Working within the IT Team, the role delivers day to day network administration, helpdesk support and delivery of communications services. 

This is a hands-on IT support position.  As well as supporting the day-to-day needs of the users, both on-site and remote, it also involves the caretaking of the local network infrastructure (configuration, management and backup) as well as working with the Global Network Team to deliver local routing and connectivity support to site.  This will involve working with Cisco switches and routers as well as admin portals for our hosted networking (Meraki) and firewall solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Network caretaking, configuration and administration
  • Assisting with general IT support within the team.
  • Ensure networking infrastructure is fit for purpose.
  • Supporting users by delivering IT service and helping problem solving.
  • Network provisioning, configuration, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Recommending system upgrades, problem solutions and service improvements
  • Equipment logistics
  • Ensure critical business operations are consistently operational, safeguarded and functional.
  • Competent in network design, operation and troubleshooting.
  • Able to configure Cisco enterprise-level networking equipment from scratch, including switches, routers and wifi controllers.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of equipment locations, configurations and solution designs.
  • Work with the global WAN team to maintain site connectivity.
  • Work with Global Security Team to maintain network security.

 Level of Education & Experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support activities
  • Ideally Cisco CCNP

 Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server family operation and support
  • Windows Server family operation and support
  • Network design 
  • DNS service provision and management
  • Network technologies: Wifi, DNS, DHCP, BGB, STP, VLANs, QoS, etc.
  • Cabling/networking skills – especially routing multiple subnets
  • Good customer/communication skills
  • Self-starter with track-record of dependability and reliability
