BUSINESS CONTEXT:

Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants, as well as a host of other chemical intermediates including Glycol Ethers, Polyethlene Glycols, Ethanolamines, and Alkyl Alkanolamines. 

INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs).  We currently have a total EO capacity of 920 kta spread across three different production units throughout Europe. These units have leading cost economics, due to economies of scale, state-of-the-art technology, strategic locations, etc. Our recently announced EO project in the US is targeting the fast growing merchant EO market, building on our experience and leadership position in Europe.

Purpose of the Job:

The individual is responsible for cost-effective management of inventories throughout the U.S. network and managing the Available-to-Promise (“ATP”) tools accurately and timely.  Activities also include addressing goods issuance, creating credit notes for customer rebates and related issues.  The individual also provides back-up support to the Amines Planner for OMP/Firefly.

  • Operations:  coordinate with operations, recording timely and accurate homologue-by-homologue production and inventory levels in Plaquemine.
  • Product Manager:  communicate pertinent information effectively and efficiently
  • Supply Chain Colleagues:  Support the Amines Planner and Logistics Supervisor in addition to supporting OMP and technical SAP user matters.  Promote teamwork.

Most Important External Factors:

  • Customers:  Addressing logistics planning and service issues so product is available-to-promise to customers where and when they need it.
  • Terminals:  Managing day-to-day matters for terminal facilities in North America; monitoring and recording all product inventories.

  • This position – and all positions – with the INEOS Oxide US organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position.  These Principles are posted throughout each Oxide facility and each employee must commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis.  These are posted within each Oxide facility.

Accountability 2

Master Scheduler

  • Balance demand and supply at the product level at each stock point.
  • Maintain Oxide’s critical and dynamic ATP tools (Currently: Product Warboards; Future: OMP) such that the uncommitted portion of Oxide’s current inventory and future inventory – as reported by Warboards/OMP – is accurate and useful in promising to supply customer orders.  Limit customers to planned volume unless instructed otherwise by Product Manager.
  • Urgently report Code Orange, Red, and Blue situations to Product Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Amines Planner as they develop.
  • Provide weekly inventory status reports to the business.
  • Interface with Operations and accurately record planned and actual production rates in the Product Warboards.
  • Interface with CSRs and accurately record customer orders in the Product Warboards.
  • Upload sales forecasts provided by the Product Manager in the EOA Planning Tool into the Product Warboards.
  • No work-process related stock-outs for any products at any storage location.  Stock-outs should only occur because of production Force Majeure and unplanned outages.
  • Work with Product Manager and Amines Planner to model “what if” scenarios for changes in product production rates and/or customer orders.  Help the business manage Force Majeure, Plant Outage, and Customer Allocation events.
  • Manage and insist upon proper time-fence adherence with all parties that participate in the Supply Chain and planning processes.

Goods Issuing

  • Manage goods issue process for all deliveries, including but not limited to obtaining of weight tickets from all out-plant shipments as well as the management of SAP production orders and material reclassifications. 
  • Monitor ZVL21N, locate missing weight tickets, and issue resolution.

Terminal Inventory Management

  • Schedule and enter Transfer Orders into SAP, manage replenishment of inventories such that terminals - barring a Force Majeure event - never stock-out.  Handover to Customer Service for order fulfilment.  Track and record actual v. planned order dates.
  • Manage terminal stock balance process during month-end close.  Ensure all variances are addressed and cleared.
  • Closely coordinate with the Rail Specialist regarding rail car availability and allocation.

Product Returns

  • Assist CSRs with and coordinate product returns.

Credit Notes/Rebates

  • Working with Product Manager guidance, create Credit Notes for customer rebates.

Purchasing & Receiving into SAP

  • Receive drum and IBC purchase orders into SAP.  Coordinate this activity with Amines Planner
  • Coordinate with Amines Planner and - as needed - create purchase orders for Ammonia, Sulphuric Acid, Phosphorous Acid, Sodium Borohydride, Bleach and other materials.

  • Assist/implement improvement projects for Supply Chain and Logistics.

Skills/Competencies

Level of Education & Experience in general

  • Bachelor’s degree, applicable work experience, or combination of education and equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Previous related experience preferred in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Site Logistics, Supply Chain, and Logistics

Technical Skills

  • Training in Logistics/Supply Chain; ability to grasp Master Scheduling and Sales & Operations Planning with appropriate training.
  • Strong computer skills and SAP experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; able to grasp and learn advanced features with appropriate training.

Behavioural Skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.  The employee must occasionally walk, stand and travel by car, airplane or other means.   Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
