Organizational context and job purpose

INEOS Nitriles is a global chemicals business with sales volume of 1200 kte and revenue in excess of $2.4 billion.  The Nitriles business has 2 manufacturing operations in the US and 2 in Europe along with offices and headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland and Aurora, Illinois near Chicago. The Nitriles Business primary products include acrylonitrile, hydrogen cyanide, and acetonitrile.  Additionally, Nitriles also has a Plant that produces catalyst for internal use at the Lima Site, globally within Ineos, and for other Acrylonitrile producers. The INEOS Nitriles Plant at Lima is part of an industrial campus which includes a refinery and chemical complex. INEOS share services, utilities, products, and feedstocks with four adjacent manufacturing facilities:  Nutrien (ammonia, urea, nitric acid), Fort Amanda Specialties (chelates), Ashland (1,4-butanediol), and Cenovus Refining (propylene, fuels and refined oil products).

This position is a member of the Lima Procurement team and assumes responsibility for Storehouse functions as well as supporting the tactical and site-specific strategic procurement activity for the INEOS Nitriles Lima Site. Ensures all activities of the job are conducted in a manner that conforms to company, state & federal SHE programs.

The Total Quality Management System shall be incorporated into all job activities.  All job activities should be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the INEOS 20 Principles.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Champions the INEOS 20 Safety Principles and the INEOS Nitriles Culture of Prevention.
  • Assure that all areas of responsibility and all actions are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with processes and procedures of the site.  Accepts responsibility for assuring that all required training is completed on time.
  • Function as Storehouse Procurement Associate supporting INEOS business needs.
    • Validate and processes material requisitions from businesses, in accordance with established supply agreements.
    • Conduct vendor performance evaluations, including but not limited to on-time delivery, material, quantity, pricing and invoice accuracy.
    • Functions as procurement representative on site, and cross-business project teams as requested and required.
    • Support sourcing and procurement process for storehouse.
    • Ensure compliance with established supply agreements for ongoing material requirements of the site on behalf of all businesses.
    • Lead resolution of pricing and delivery discrepancies as necessary.
    • Assures that all activity in procurement and storehouse is in conformance with Delegation of Authority process.
    • Interfaces with operations, engineering, accounting and HSE functions, providing high levels of service to all internal customers
    • Operate all equipment, including but not limited to lift truck, waste disposal system, automated materials storage units, in compliance with all safety procedures and requirements.
    • Responsibility for all aspects of the storehouse activity, including but not limited to receiving, storing, issuing, cycle counting, and housekeeping duties.
    • Perform inventory analysis, including evaluating and maintaining min-max levels to optimum, obsolescence identification and disposition, inventory reconciliation including cycle count process, inventory reduction activities, and all other associated Storehouse activities as required to optimize storehouse operations and minimize working capital impacts to each associated business.
    • Reporting of established metrics for evaluation of optimal storehouse operation.
    • Will be the catalyst for improvement of storehouse practices and champing improvements such as consignment programs, integrated supply, inventory control, etc.

Skills & Knowledge Required

In compliance with INEOS COVID protocols, you must be fully vaccinated (2 weeks past your last dose of COVID vaccine) prior to your start date.

Education/Experience

  • Associates in Business or Engineering Discipline, preferred. 
  • Background in Materials Management with understanding of inventory management practices and a history of success in such efforts.
  • Experience with SAP, additional other operating system experience is a plus.

Skills/Competencies

  • Excellent IT skills related to Microsoft Office, in particular experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • to effectively correspond with all levels of business and vendor management.
  • Strong computer literacy and analysis skills.
  • Ability to multi-task to manage multiple transactions and responsibilities.
  • Organizational and Attention to detail Skills are essential.
  • Understanding of the site strategy as it relates to materials management.
  • Facilitation skills for working issues within groups and teams.
  • Must be a team player and willing to network appropriately to increase quality of contribution to the asset.
  • Adaptive, able to conceive and apply effective, flexible solutions.
  • Analytical and able to use appropriate processes to identify needs and advise line management to devise effective approaches and solutions.
  • Able to establish rapport quickly and sustain effective relationships within a work group of diverse backgrounds.
  • A change agent who is both a "starter" and a "finisher".
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to stand, bend, stoop and twist for majority of workday.

Expected Salary Range:

$60,000 - $65,000 based on skills and experience
