INEOS Nitriles is a global chemicals business with sales volume of 1200 kte and revenue in excess of $2.4 billion.  The Nitriles business has 2 manufacturing operations in the US and 2 in Europe along with offices and headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland and Aurora, Illinois near Chicago. The Nitriles Business primary products include acrylonitrile, hydrogen cyanide, and acetonitrile.   The INEOS Nitriles Green Lake Plant located near Victoria, Texas, is a world scale, state of the art chemical complex.  The primary product from this site is Acrylonitrile, a chemical intermediate used in the production of acrylic fibers, plastics, and nitrile rubber.  Acetonitrile and Hydrogen Cyanide are co-products of the Acrylonitrile production process.  Acetonitrile is purified through a proprietary process to produce a very high-quality material with little waste generated.

This position is a member of the Green Lake Procurement team and assumes responsibility for Storehouse functions as well as supporting the tactical and site-specific strategic procurement activity for the INEOS Nitriles Green Lake Site.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Champions the INEOS 20 Safety Principles and the INEOS Nitriles Culture of Prevention.
  • Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to fully promote safety possible.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
  • Complete training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
  • Promote and maintain ISO 9000 within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Function as Storehouse Material Handler supporting INEOS business needs.
    • Validate and processes material requisitions from businesses, in accordance with established supply agreements.
    • Participate in vendor performance evaluations, including but not limited to on-time delivery, material, quantity, pricing and invoice accuracy.
    • Functions as procurement representative on site, and cross-business project teams as requested and required.
    • Support sourcing and procurement process for storehouse.
    • Ensure compliance with established supply agreements for ongoing material requirements of the site on behalf of all businesses.
    • Lead resolution of pricing and delivery discrepancies as necessary.
    • Assures that all activity in procurement and storehouse is in conformance with Delegation of Authority process.
    • Interfaces with operations, engineering, accounting, and SHE functions, providing high levels of service to all internal customers
    • Operate all equipment, including but not limited to lift truck, fork-lift, other storage equipment, in compliance with all safety procedures and requirements.
    • Responsibility for all aspects of the storehouse activity, including but not limited to shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, cycle counting, and housekeeping duties.
    • Perform inventory analysis, including evaluating and maintaining min-max levels to optimum, obsolescence identification and disposition, inventory reconciliation including cycle count process, inventory reduction activities, and all other associated Storehouse activities as required to optimize storehouse operations and minimize working capital impacts to each associated business.
    • Reporting of established metrics for evaluation of optimal storehouse operation.
    • Will be the catalyst for improvement of storehouse practices and championing improvements such as consignment programs, integrated supply, inventory control, etc.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years plus experience in industrial material procurement /distribution; and
  • One (1) year plus experience working with a computerized Storeroom inventory software, preferably SAP; or
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in related job tasks that demonstrate equivalent skills.
  • Currently hold a valid Driver’s License with skill and knowledge to qualify as Forklift Operator

Physical Requirements

Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move or lift objects.

  • The worker is subject to extreme heat:  Temperatures above 100 degrees F for periods of more than one hour.
  • The worker is subject to vibration:  Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • The worker is subject to hazards:  Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions:  One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin:  fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • The worker is subject to oils:  There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
