Sr. Safety & Security Specialist

About The Role
 

The Sr. Safety & Security Specialist manages safety and security systems, processes and policies for the Ashtabula Complex.  This includes assuring the safety of employees and develops, prioritizes and manages security systems, processes and policies controlling the flow of personnel, traffic and visitors and goods, ensuring the security of the Ashtabula Site property and personnel.  This includes identifying the need for, developing and implementing security procedures, protective strategy and security design. It is designated as a Safety Critical role.

Key activities include:
  • Adhere to INEOS Pigments’ 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
  • Assure the safety of employees and contractors through compliance with the OSHA standards, ANSI standards, INEOS Pigments policies and procedures, and other agencies’ safety regulations, standards, and/or guidelines
  • Assists the Safety Superintendent and Safety Specialists at the site in the field addressing employee safety concerns and increasing the safety presence
  • Help to develop, maintain and communicate site safety, health and emergency procedures and associated CBT learning courses as assigned
  • Manage all electronic and physical systems controlling security relating to INEOS Pigments employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors at the Ashtabula Site
  • Manage all aspects relating to the Ashtabula Site contracted third party security personnel who staff the site 24/7.
  • Conducts new employee and resident contractor inductions and training related to security at the Ashtabula Complex
  • Conducts and oversees various audits of the Ashtabula Site security and safety systems identifying improvements and implementing agreed upon system changes and upgrades
  • Devises and enacts various security drills at the Ashtabula Site
  • In cooperation with safety and environmental personnel, the Senior Safety & Security Specialist will assess, prioritize, develop, implement and maintain an emergency response system in regards to internal/external security threats and breeches of security
About You
 

You should possess:
  • High school completion or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Safety, Chemistry or related discipline is preferred
  • Experience working with DHS is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum or 2 years’ experience in a specialist safety role or Industrial Hygiene role, or 3+ years of relevant experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of safety and health processes and related legislation and standards
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, Minitab)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  Ability to communicate technical subjects to a nontechnical audience in a training environment
  • Integrity, safety commitment, teamwork, organization/ time-management, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Schedule/Hours 
This is a salaried exempt, day shift position.
