Speciality Vinyls Technical Marketing Specialist 1

Main role purpose:
The post holder identifies, evaluates and manages product development and diversification opportunities to deliver profitability objectives in line with the business strategy for expansion, significant volume and new product sales growth.


Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Develop innovative processes and propose projects to deliver new, high-value product opportunities, working in collaboration with technical, marketing, sales and R&D colleagues.
  • Identify, develop and manage diversification options with the potential to deliver a step-change in EBITDA performance.
  • Manage innovation projects with the Research & Innovation Manager and promote new products, ensuring the product mix is optimised in line with the marketing and global strategy to improve profitability.
  • Provide and challenge market segmentation intelligence to enhance sales decisions based on profitability potential.


Key skills & knowledge required:

  • Science-based degree or equivalent (chemical engineering, chemistry or materials/ polymer science).
  • Minimum 3 years’ marketing experience in the chemical and/or polymer industry.
  • Able to develop and apply complex marketing strategies.
  • Existing strong knowledge of processes, products and technologies in the plastics industry, with a commitment to keep up with the latest developments.
  • Able to detect opportunities and transform these into new business.
  • Ability to manage development projects, including technical & marketing elements.
  • At ease when working and implementing change.
  • Strong leader with demonstrable entrepreneurship.
  • A self-starter who is able to think outside the box.
  • A strong and confident communicator, comfortable dealing with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in working with multicultural teams.
  • Able to travel within Europe (up to 20%).
