The Position: Site Controller - This role leads the accounting and controlling process of three plant facilities to ensure there is clear visibility of the cost structure, provides transparent decision-making support, supports efforts to reduce complexity, and is a trusted professional ensuring accounting controls, policies and procedures are followed. This role provides supervision for two team members. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or related field, preferably in the Chemical industry
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP financial modules (FI & CO)
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and implement process improvements quickly
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide coordination for the Styrene Monomer site controlling area including preparation and analysis of financial reports, coordination of the site forecast and budget preparation, and monthly closure and reconciliation of all site balance sheet accounts
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the Styrene Monomer Site Accounting team
  • Analyze and report on SAP and budgetary variances (spending, idle, usage, and price variances)
  • Maintain financial review requirements for all capital projects per the Delegation of Authority (DoA) as part of the local Capital Decision Boards & business case development
  • Ensure proper product costing of all materials on a monthly and annual basis and maintain monthly update of target cost for existing and new materials
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance for internal policies 
  • Maintain appropriate communication of results to the plant, business, and other internal parties as requested
  • Undertake strategic projects and analytical studies as requested

The Location: This opportunity is located in Pasadena, Texas, only 30 miles from Houston, TX.
